Let me first state by saying that I am so excited I have found a university that’s offers such an amazing Information Technology Management program to fulfill my educational needs. I currently have an Associates of Science in Science from Tidewater Community College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Healthcare Management from Saint Leo University. After earning my degrees I have been working in the healthcare field, Marketing /Sales, but Banking Technical Healthcare I desired the most. I took an ITE introduction 610 course for the University of Maryland in 2015 to get glimpse of information technology. Although this one course was challenging, I solely enjoyed the experience and did not become bored. I am now working within Radiology and …show more content…
I did not score high enough to get recruited, so then I started college within the same of year of graduating High School. The adjustments I have made to ensure that I would not encounter difficulties in my educational endeavors is by alternating my work and living environment, more flexibility in time, exercise weekly and changed my diet. A balanced lifestyle includes physical fitness and a healthy diet. I believe this allows students to focus mentally throughout their daily task or projects. I now see college as a second full time job with putting in at least twenty one hours a week of studying time at the library. Study sessions will insist of 3 hours Monday through Friday with a minimum of 5 hours on weekends. In addition to the changes that I have made in order to succeed, there are challenges in the aspect of coming into the Information Technology world with a healthcare background. Healthcare has its own language as well as the Information Technology. Even though learning the language of Information technology will be a challenge I am confident in my strength in persistency. I’ve learned my strength is being persistent in finishing a task or goal. With diligence and persistency I will accomplish my goals. For example, an unexpected emergent situation occurred at work. There was an active shooter present within the building. . Being this was my first few months of working at the hospital I needed instruction on how to react. First step
In my first quarter, I was faced with many difficulties. As a mature student, I had been away from the academic setting for about 17 years, reentering a scholastic atmosphere was a challenge. As a home-schooled student, I faced such challenges as how to function within a structured classroom environment, how to study with deadlines in mind and how to work within a group project setting. Learning to balance the need to study while working was also a challenge.
In spite what I was told, I gave the Air Force a try. I did not score high enough to get recruited, so then I started college within the same of year of graduating High School. I was raised in Nacogdoches, Texas, which is known for its small-town atmosphere and Stephen F. Austin State University. Due to being a small town, Nacogdoches lacked advanced placement courses; therefore, most my time was spent in non-challenging course work. When I attended SFA as a dual-credit student I experienced a minor shock, SFA was a step up from Nacogdoches High School; however, I quickly adapted and worked harder to maintain the pace of my peers. When I finally got accepted to Texas A&M University I again faced the same academic obstacle, and experienced major setbacks and failures. After my first semester of college I received a 2.7 gpa and received my first C in a class. Feelings of defeat and confusion overcame me—my goals of attending medical school appeared to diminish before my eyes. I questioned my work ethic and intelligence. Despite the feelings of failure, I never let myself fall into despair, and I moved forward. Every semester following my first semester at A&M I improved over time; however, the in the Spring 2016 I finally overcame my academic hurdle and made my best grades to date. It has taken time to develop qualitative techniques to retain information for difficult science
Hello, Michelle, I had a wonderful time learning about you, your family members and your educational goals. In addition to this, I wanted to find out if your family members are supportive of your enrollment in college? Michelle, I also, wonder what one Office Technology skill you hope to develop by participating in this course. Finally, how will the Office Technology skill support you in your career as a Medical Administrative Assistant? Finally, do you think that you will enjoy working as a Medical Administrative
I look forward to being surrounded by more like minded people who have the same desire as myself, to become an occupational therapist. During my undergraduate career I was surrounded by many students who had intentions of applying to psychology graduate programs or physical therapy programs, but I had little interaction with other students with plans of applying to occupational therapy programs. I am a very driven and motivate student which I have demonstrated throughout my academic career. As a result of my determination and motivation I will be graduating with my bachelor's degree early despite transferring schools and changing majors. I took classes every summer, not because I needed to, but because I enjoyed staying busy and challenging myself. I always knew I would be applying to graduate programs one day, so my grades were of the utmost importance to me. One of the greatest challenges I foresee facing me with the transition from undergraduate work to graduate work is changing my mindset about grades and retained knowledge. I have always had a knack for memorizing which has aided me well when it comes time to study as all I had to do was memorize a mnemonic and recall it for the test, but depending on the subject, recall a few months later was sometimes foggy. Unlike undergraduate course work
I, Flora Ajayi, was dismissed from the Nursing program at The College of New Jersey due to my performance in Principles of Microbiology (BIO 144) and Anatomy & Physiology II (BIO 142 ), which are major Nursing prerequisites. I take responsibility for my academic progressions and understand the consequences and rewards of the Academic realm. The study habits that allowed me to flourish in high school, for example, studying class notes and reviewing a week before the exam, simply did not work in college. This forced me into a state of panic, which led me not to do well in both science classes. Studying effectively in college is different than studying in high school due to the rigor of the course and my attempt to process on a higher academic level. My inability to succeed in the sciences during my spring semester, despite my early success, has allowed for both personal growth and self-reflection while repeating BIO 144 and BIO 142.
Earlier in my collegiate career, I was burdened with a selection of personal complications that derailed my academic performance. However, persevering through these hindrances taught me an indispensable lesson on how to encounter adversity and overcome hardships while juggling everyday duties. My success in my more recent coursework should express my ability to work efficaciously.
This is my first semester at SNHU in the Masters in ITwith concentration in Healthcare Informatics. I have a MS in Applied Gerontology.I have had the opportunity to interact, get to know and helped a lot of great people while on volunteer training at Northside Hospital. This interaction not only helped them but helped me as well, It really made me realize, that no matter what age we are, everyone strives and wishes to live happily. This simple interaction on my part has made me to be more driven in completing what I have set out to accomplish with my career. I know the things in life that have the most reward, require the most sacrifice and hard work. I am interested in this program because there are many opportunities in Information Technology. I
Dedication is a trait that I established growing up. Whether it was through school, playing soccer, or even hobbies of mine, I was always dedicated through any task. I have always been the type of person to keep going when even when times got difficult, and that’s exactly what I did in two situations of receiving my first fail in a class and scoring low on my SAT composite scores. Bad grades and bad tests scores were two things that I always wanted to avoid but unfortunately that was something I got to experience. Receiving my first F in a class and a 1360 as my highest SAT composite score was something that broke my heart. Nevertheless, I refused to let that get the best of me and I was determined to work harder and harder.
I believe the hardships I have in college are because I'm either lazy or they're too many distractions when I'm doing my work or studying. For example I get too lazy to study so then I for myself and believing I know the content when I really don't know. Leading me into when it's time to take the test I believe I’m going to get a better grade than I actually do. Also the distractions in my work or study place play a big role in the hardships I face in school. For example when I'm doing my homework I have my phone and my computer next to me. This causes me to take a break from the work and check my phone or play music on the computer. I hope these weaknesses don't affect me in college although I'm starting to work towards changing them. Should I early start and traditional math program and the assignments I have to do at home I have look for a quieter and a free distraction place. Also if I don't know the content I research it and tried even though I don't know
The job outlook for health information technology between the years 2012 and 2022 is twenty-two percent, much faster than average. It is expected to increase as our population ages. This is great news for anyone looking for a job in the medical field but not wanting anything to do with the clinical aspects of it. I chose health information technology as my field of study for this and a handful of other reasons. When I came to Great Lakes Institute of Technology originally planning to be a medical diagnostic sonographer, I was told that I would not find many jobs in Erie. I was never a fan of blood and knowing that it was a medical school, I thought my time at the school was done with that one appointment, but I was wrong. Heather, my admissions
I have many things to learn going forward in this program. My weaknesses are many, but I’ve learned a lot about my strengths this semester as well. I’ve found I make up for intelligence, in my dedication to this program. I’m always trying to think of new ways to improve and study. The majority of my time is spent studying, practicing skills, and planning for the program. I do make time for self-care as well. From the beginning, I have wanted to take this seriously, and I feel as though I’ve succeeded in doing that. I may not be the smartest student, but I am always willing to put in the work to get to the level I am expected to be at by my instructors. On that note, I have
This course like my entire first semester of university have provided me with both many challenges as well as taught me many lessons not only for my university career, but for the rest of my life. As I reflect back on the semester, I recall telling myself at least once a week that I wanted to drop out of school, followed by many breakdowns, crying fits and calling defeat. The past few months, haven’t been at all easy for me, I have thought many times I wasn’t intelligent enough to be in university, I was disappointed with some of the grades I received and I was constantly engulfed in a swarm of stress. Despite all these tough times, I have had many good one’s as well, I have made new friends which are now integral to my everyday life and I have enhanced my knowledge to a new degree. Some of the many lessons that I’ve already learned in my short university experience include how to manage my time, the importance of meeting deadlines as well as the continuous struggle of balancing the various different facets of life.
In college life, students face many pressures. One of my biggest stressors was keeping my student scholarship. After coming in to college with a 3.3 grade point average, I knew that keeping a 3.0 in college, for my scholarship, was going to be a challenge that I had not yet experienced. This caused me to work even harder and sometimes even too hard. The scholarship played a large factor in choosing Baldwin Wallace as my school of choice, so retaining my reward is of the utmost importance to both me personally, and my parents financially. As I began classes I realized that the work load seemed a lot larger than high school, and sometimes as if it were never going to end. I soon realized how to balance my time between school work and making grades, as well as meeting new people and having fun. There are many enjoyable things that make college the great experience it has been so far, so finding an equilibrium of hard work and good times has been one the best new attributes I have
I can remember missing 8:05 classes because I stayed out too late the night before. In high school the teacher would constantly remind the students when certain assignments were due, but this was not the case in college. I learned that the hard way my first semester. Sometimes I forgot to turn in an assignment because I didn’t properly read my syllabus and my professor never mentioned it. These were all new problems that could have easily let escalate without taking the proper actions. For the most part I was doing fairly well but a few of my grades began to plummet. I was losing the confidence in myself and started to wonder if going to college had been the best decision. The time had come for me to grow up and become an adult even I didn’t feel the time was right. I immediately began attending tutoring sessions, working with peers and also keeping a daily to-do list. These factors were the eventually led to drastic improvement and success. After my first semester I learned how better manage my time, take advantage of campus resources and also how to organize myself better. These struggles also taught me that sometimes I try and rush through things instead of taking my time. I realized that one of my strong points is being able to really do well when my back is against the wall. Although I was unhappy while facing obstacles I am happy I experienced them. I believe this experience was the reason for my
