How I Met Your Mother, 30 Rock, The Office, and The Big Bang Theory are among the top TV programs from the 2000s. Accordingly, each of the programs listed above have made their own ingenious contributions to modern TV programs. Nevertheless, one of my all-time favorite TV programs is also from the 2000s and has made its own impact on modern tv. The TV show that stands at the top of my list is Scrubs. Because of the brilliant internal monologue of the protagonist, the unique comedic style, and the exceptional music selections, Scrubs is my all-time favorite TV show. One of the best aspects of Scrubs is the internal monologues of the protagonist John Dorian, who goes by J.D. In each episode of Scrubs, J.D.’s soliloquies present a problem or dilemma that he or one of the supporting characters is experiencing. The issues presented in the show elicit empathy and are applicable to everyday life. For instance, postpartum depression, self-image issues, and death are among the issues that the show covers, which makes the show relatable and heartfelt. Not only does each episode address a problem or dilemma, additionally, the last internal monologue of the episode wraps up with an applicable life lesson. One the of episodes that dealt with marital issues between J.D.’s best friend, Turk, and his best friend’s wife, Carla, concludes with a soliloquy that states, “Nothing in this world worth having comes easy.” The internal monologue of this episode encourages the audience to not give
