This can be considered as an advantage because it encourages developers and users to choose it among other operating systems. On the other hand, Android has a wide range of applications to choose. The current number of Android apps in the market as the figure bellow shows is: 1,214,489.

Android wants to be among the safest and most secured operating system in the world. However, making the source code available to everyone indirectly invites the attention of hackers. To prevent that from happening, Android provides key security features. For example, it relies on Linux version 2.6 core system services for security because its main security goal is to isolates the user resources from one another. Also it obligate application sandbox for all applications. It has the feature of application-defined and user-granted permissions. Many security associations have released
Android from the very beginning have used to give the same features as IPhone at a low price. The ownership of IPhone has increased but so is the ownership of android phones. If only the price of the IPhones were a little low it could have made a better profit. They would have also made better sales in America. Samsung faced a law suit filed by apple against them that they have been copying the features of IPhone. The android phones of Samsung used the exact same features provided by the IPhones over the years.
when compared to Android because it has a richer and more interesting history, sells more
Smartphones are a mobile technology that utilizes an advanced operating system in portable devices. Currently, the advanced operating systems employed on smartphones are IOS and Android. IOS was developed by Apple and is exclusive to its mobile devices only. However, Android is an open source operating system that is utilized by various smartphones on the market. Nevertheless, current smartphones employing either operating system encompasses the capabilities of a cell phone, camera, computer, mp3 player, external hard drive, GPS, and internet connection. This collection of technology on one device makes it very advantageous for businesses and convenient for individuals. According to Smith (2015), this is supported by the fact that 64% of American adults have a smartphone for various tasks.
Android also has its advantages over Apple but very minor ones. One advantage it has that it has an expandable storage card. Iphone’s don’t have this feature, but you can easily get a memory card for the computer and store all your pictures and files so basically it’s no problem. It also one minor advantage is that it has a bigger screen than Samsung. Which the creator of apple Bill Gates is not a fan of big
Android and iOS devices are the most seen on the market. Both offer different qualities and it depends on the users’ preference.
In Manjoo’s view, “It’s hard to call Android anything other than a resounding success. Well, except for one small thing: Most Android phones are crap” (Manjoo). Although Manjoo acknowledges the fact that Android is a very successful company, in making this comment he rejects to succumb to the extremely popular operating system that is Android. The unresponsive touchscreen, unnecessary software, overall layout of the home screen is unattractive and difficult to comprehend and the overall cheapness of the phones frustrated Manjoo. I believe that one of Android’s main problem is not the software but the companies providing the service. Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T all add extra adware to Android devices that are paid for by companies such as Blockbuster and NFL which cannot be removed from the phone. Consequently, the perfect phone expected by the consumer is not being delivered.
With a wide range of different phone designs, more freedom to do what you want, and an applaudable display size, some people prefer the Android over the iPhone. Although the iPhone has offered more choices than when they first came out, a customer still only has three screens and five colors to choose from (Smith). The android has more options with waterproof phones, different screen sizes, more colors, different materials and so much more. Androids have so many phone companies a customer
Android’s have a Linux based software. That means you can imply that Androids are similar to PC’s, for PC is run on Linux. PC stands for personal computer, and they are known to be very customizable. Androids have the same reputation, for they can be modified to
The reason I believe that the smartphone market is beginning to focus more on software than hardware is because Apples (iOS) and Google’s (Androis OS) software 's today both have a great deal of product differentiation, there are several features and applications accessible on iPhones iOS that are not accessible on Androids software. This has meant that over the years,
An operating system is the core of any system software. It manages the resources including the memory and the io devices and provides the interface to interact with the system. The operating systems that are used in computers to manage the computer resources and provide the direct user interface to the computer system are the operating systems of a computer whereas the mobile operating system is the operating system specially designed for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. These devices are designed with a limited amount of communication and computing abilities. They are smaller in size, with little memory and processing power compared to the computer operating system. Thus, the mobile operating system is lightweight. Some of the mobiles are iOS, Android, Windows Phones, Black-Berry OS, webOS and Symbian [3].
Also, smartphone applications have good availability. We do not have to worry about how we find the application. In this era, we can find anything we want easily. We can find it on the worldwide network, the internet, where we can share anything with other people in the world. We just need to find a site. The smartphone is beneficial because it has two functions. It can be a computing device and a communication device. For example, we can send an e-mail with this device, send a SMS and call someone and we can use it for chat with another user. Smartphones, and even other electronic devices are the best invention that has been found. Smartphones are very complex and sophisticated because it has many advantages such as availability, and operating system. It is important for people who need tools to support their duty.
Linux is a trademark owned by Linus Torvalds [1]. It is an operating system which is powerful, free and inexpensive to own based on UNIX [1]. It is a POSIX-compliant with versions available to install in cell phones, supercomputers and most computing systems [1]. Linux is an open source program as its source code is available to the general public for use and the right to modify from its original design without any charges [1]. New code will be added to the next version made available with Linux if it is accepted as a universal improvement [1]. The code will continue to exist and developed by the user even if the company fails [1]. Moreover, updates for Linux are available every six months [1]. Nowadays, Linux is in constant development by
I will start by mentioning the pros of Android OS. Android 8.0, according to benchmarks tests, runs two times faster than the previous Android OS (7.0 Nougat). This is a plus for me because I am frequently using gaming and social media apps. The Android OS is open sourced, which grants me the ability to download 3rd party apps. Because of this, and because I love listening to music, I can get Spotify Premium and Pandora One for free by downloading the apps from internet websites rather than from the Play Store. Another benefit of the Android OS is the new Picture-in-Picture mode that comes standard with the Android 8.0 upgrade. This mode allows videos to be shrunk down to a resizable window allowing the user to open and operate other apps. Personally, I do not think I will use this mode a lot, but it is nice to know that I can use it whenever I please. While Android’s OS has many benefits, the same OS also has many setbacks.
Imagine that someone wants to be like someone else that is cool and wants to be like them and wear the same stuff that they are wearing and wants to get the same phone because everybody has the same phone but they go to the phone store and they just found out that they can't get an iphone because it's so expensive and they can't afford it and they were looking at android phones and they found out that it's a lot more better when it comes to expenses .Many people these days fight over to talk about which phone is better Android or Iphones, but they are just phones but there are ups and downs for both of the brands. One of the reasons is that the expenses of the phones that they make, Almost everyone can afford and Android they come in different prices and apple prices are really high and a lot of people can't get that phone because they can't afford it. Android is the most selling phone to this day still. Another reason is that multitasking is a lot easier they introduced multi- window awhile ago, which means you can look at several apps at once. My last reason is that androids are able to take the batteries out because they die over time.
