Therefore, communication process can be explained when an idea or message is trying to send to the receiver through any transmission devices, communication automatically takes place when the receiver is able to understand the information send by the sender. In the communication process, the first step have to perform is the sender. Sender means the company that manufacture and sells products or services to their customer. In another word, they make use of symbols (words or graphic or visual aids) to convey the message and produce the required response. For Panasonic, the sender will be the Panasonic Corporation worldwide. Based on the advertisement, we found there are Panasonic’s slogan and the product name appearing on the bottom right corner to create awareness in public that Panasonic is the corporation that manufactures the Smart VIERA 3D TV. The sender generates thoughts to be conveyed. The second step, sender involves in the encoding process. In order to convey meaning, the sender must begin encoding which means translating information into a message in the form of symbols that represent ideas or concepts. The symbols can take on numerous forms such as languages, words, or gestures. These symbols are used to encode ideas into messages that others can understand. It is important for the sender to use symbols that are familiar to the intended receiver because it is a good way for the sender to improve encoding
The process of transferring information in verbal communication is from one person to another person or groups orally. An effective communication happen only when both party participate in the process understand each other. The information receiver should be able to interpret and decode the message.
According to Schwartz (2001), communication can be said to be the process that involves the sending and receipt of messages of information among individuals. The communication process consists of two things. It involves the sending and receipt of a message. The message sent and received can be classified into two broad categories. These categories include non-verbal and verbal messages.
Communication is the sending and receiving messages and information between two or more people. The person receiving the information is called the receiver and the person sending the message is referred to as the sender. The information conveyed can include instructions, ideas, facts, concepts, beliefs, opinions and even emotions. Effective communication occurs if the receiver understands the exact information or idea that the sender intended to transmit.
Message coded – when the idea has been thought through, there is a thought process of how this idea is going to then be communicated. There is a thought as to how this message is going to express it, as it could be through
The first part of the cycle of that an idea occurs, for example you decide you want to buy a laptop. After the idea, you would code the message, you would put you wanting to buy a laptop by written it down or getting pictures of a laptop. You would then send the message, so you would send the picture or writing to someone telling them that you want to buy a laptop. Then the message would be received, this would be when the other person has gotten your message. Then the message would be decoded, this is where the person would take what has been said to them and try to decode it. This
Next in the process, the sender must choose to communicate cognitive meanings through symbols, defined by the Communication Model document as “behaviors performed more or less consciously and voluntarily to represent experiences
The authors define communication as “a social process in which individuals employ symbols to establish and interpret meaning in their environment.”
Message is understood- if you have communicated clearly. The other person concentrates. There are no barriers and the other person shows understanding by nodding.
‘Ideas (or meanings) are perceived as objects’, ‘Linguistic expressions are perceived as containers’ and ‘communication is perceived as sending’. This means that when someone wants to say an expression (the object), he puts concepts into words (which are the container) and sends them along a conduit to the person who is hearing him and who takes the concept out of the words which means out of the containers. Examples of the ‘conduit metaphor’ are: “I gave you that idea”, “it is difficult to put my ideas into words”, “Her words carry little meaning”.
In order for successful communication, the sender speaks their thoughts, which are spoken, written, or shared through gestures. The communication medium can be audio, electronic, or just close contact between the sender and receiver. The receiver(s) acquires by listening, reading, or watching. If this process fails at any point, then communications fail.
The reason communication is seen as a complex process is due to its different parts that make it up. These different processes that take place are composed of other elements creating a very complex system. The parts are sender and receiver, message and feedback, channel, context, and noise. These parts contain other factors within themselves
Even though we all communicate on a daily basis, communication can be a difficult task in certain situations. Communication is based on the sender and the receiver. In order to have effective communication, the senders have to effectively communicate the message to the receiver. The receiver must interpret the message and communicate back and understanding, whether it is verbal or written.
An individual interpretation of symbols is modified by his or her own thought processes. Our thoughts, self-concept, and the wider community we live in are created through communication symbolic interaction. We use language and meaning making to create the self and the
1. sender has an idea 2. Sender encodes the idea in a message 3. message travels over a channel 4. Receiver decodes the message 5. feedback travels to the sender
The speaker is the source of information and ideas for an audience. The job of the source is to translate ideas and images in his or her mind into verbal or non-verbal symbols that an audience can recognize. Verbal symbols are words, sentences, sounds, vocally produce noises or alternative utterances that are said aloud in order to convey some meaning. For example, stop! Is a word conveying a particular action by sound and can be written out or spoken. Nonverbal symbols are messages sent to a receiver from the source by means of body language, facial expressions, eye contact, touching, signs and gestures. For example, the speaker may encode in gestures how big something is by separating his or her hands or something small by bringing them closer
