Border Patrol has been something I have been interested in doing since I was a freshman in highschool when I started in the law enforcement classes. What made me interested in Border Patrol was seeing how active you have to be, law enforcement has been something I have been interested in doing since I was small I have always changed the careers in what I have wanted to do as in being a police officer, lawyer, detective but mostly a border patrol agents. One of these responsibilities is to line watch. This involves the detection, prevention and apprehension of terrorists, undocumented aliens and smugglers of aliens at or near the land border by maintaining surveillance from a covert position, following up leads, responding to electronic sensor television systems, aircraft sightings and interpreting and following tracks, marks and other physical evidence.
Job specific skills in border patrol are that you must have a substanial background of experience (paid voluntary, full-part time) that demonstrates the ability to take charge, make decisions, and maintain composure in stressful situation. Your experience must demonstrate an ability to maintain interpersonal relationships with coworkers and the public and a prosperity to learn law enforcement regulations methods and techniques both on the job and through formal instruction. Working conditions in border patrol agency is you have to be working outdoors, where it will be hot and cold and that will be whenever. Also you have to be very active because your purpose is to watch for immigrants or terrorists. The annual salary for border patrol is 33,829 to 42,948 depending on experience and qualifications. They have programs where students will develop and academic and pratical and understanding of criminal justice.
