These past seven years we have all had an experience of a lifetime. Even though it doesn’t seem like it Peru Elementary School has been a huge part of our life. Walt Disney once said, “We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” We have started down this path with naptime in kindergarten and are ending it with pre-algebra, essays, and grueling tests. Along this path we have met many amazing friends and faculty members and will only continue to meet more.
Without our teachers, none of us would academically be where we are today. They have made it possible for each and every one of us to excel in and out of the classroom. They have taught us to be better students by teaching us what it means to have grit, zest, social intelligence, self-control, gratitude, curiosity, and optimism. Along with the seven character traits, our teachers have also taught us to be safe, respectful, and responsible students. Although, the most valuable lesson our teachers have taught us is to do our best no matter what.
For me, my friends have been the best part of school. They have been by my side through everything. Whether we were studying for a social studies test or doing our math homework

Walking into kindergarten most of us didn’t even know how to spell cat, now our teachers are teaching us words like ominous and somehow secretly slipping it into our daily vocabulary. In second grade we learned how to write in a whole different way and for most of us it just looked like a bunch of squiggly lines. In fact, to this day I can’t remember the difference between F and T. We’ve gotten through dreadful ELA ready books, troublesome math lessons, and long state tests, but we’ve worked hard and achieved more than we ever thought we
There are many characteristics that are necessary for teachers to have. First, it’s important for teachers to be vastly knowledgeable about their subject matter. Teachers need to be enthusiastic about whatever they are teaching, especially if they want to sustain students' interest. If the teacher isn't interested in the subject, why should the students? Educators should always be willing to learn all they can about the content in which they are teaching—making the content as relevant or interesting as possible. Another characteristic that is vital in a teacher is having respect for students. Showing respect towards students means valuing each student’s ideas and opinions. It also means exemplifying respect for
Teachers should be continually learning and assessing their teaching practices through reflection and collaboration with other teachers. It is the role of the teacher to use these teaching practices to develop in students the abilities and skills that will remain with them throughout life. Teachers should be role models for their students, to provide encouragement and praise, reassuring their students that they can achieve their dreams and reach their goals. Teaching should not only focus on academics but it should also focus on character education. Students need to be prepared to enter into their community and have the ability to interact with people from different backgrounds, cultures, religious backgrounds, social status, and values. It is important that teachers work with students to help them learn the skills of cooperation, patience, communication, empathy, understanding and teamwork, these skills are extremely important for the successful integration into further education, the workforce, family life and other social interactions. Teachers can achieve this through focusing on and encouraging group work, peer tutoring as well as games and activities that focus on social behaviors.
I started Kindergarten at Hobart Elementary, and it quickly became apparent that school was an environment I would flourish in. Thanks to my sister, Kensey, I knew how to read fluently by the time I was four and how to multiply by the time I was six. In Hobart, word got around quickly about “that Garrison kid in Kindergarten.” Before I knew it, my teachers

On September 1, 2012, I walked into my fifth grade teacher’s classroom for the first time in my life. Mrs.Cullen was standing in the front of the door with open arms ready to welcome her new fifth grade students. As I made my way to my desk and sat down next to Charlie Schutt and Quin Timmerman, I got the feeling that middle school would be a time of talking to some of my best friends and cruising through classes. As the school year progressed, and classroom seats changed, my thought of how Middle school would be changed as well. On the first day Mrs.Cullen explained our schedule, Homework detentions, and demerits. After about fifty questions, she sent us off to our first class, and the first step of our Middle School journey. The fifth grade

A teacher should have good character traits and who do you think has good character traits
All throughout the summer of 2016, my time was spent volunteering at the Chinese Christian Mission kid’s summer camp. After my summer vacation ended, I found myself genuinely appreciating the accompaniment of children and wanting to continue my involvement with them. I sought out for more opportunities to work with children and discovered an after school homework club through a friend's Facebook post. After reading up on their website, I was interested in helping elementary school students develop essential math and literacy skills. It was my objective to enhance their self-esteem through improvement in academic skills and ignite a passion for learning in a safe and caring environment. Starting out first as a tutor, then becoming coordinator, I have volunteered with Learning Buddies Network for more than a year now.
Teachers are one of the major problems of the education system. They are crucial to the student 's performance and their learning process. The Department of Education has found that " teachers are the most important factor in determining student achievement."(U.S. Department of Education) This is true, since teachers are the ones that teach students the academics that they will need in the future. It 's the teacher 's responsibility to get their students ready with the material that they will need. Correspondingly teachers are clearly one of the greatest factors in the quality of education received by students.
Another point that makes a good teacher would be his/her patience. Teachers should not get upset or even worse, give up on the students who are not so strong in their studies. Instead, they should have the patience to slowly coach them, give them extra lessons, and find different ways to encourage them. Let them know that the teacher
A teacher in a healthy classroom requires many traits to create a safe, loving environment to promote learning. A quality teacher must use positive energy and humor, continue to develop their own expertise, allow their students to be independent, teach to the whole student, and share the joy of teaching and learning with their students. Without these traits, teaching becomes mundane, and the teacher is less likely to create a safe, secure environment for learning.
I can say I have quite a few friends. I have my friends that are classmates, where we help each other out and talk during class. I have my teammates, and I have a special bond with them. I’m the type of person that would help anyone, if asked. I have my very five best friends that mean everything to me. We are all super close and we have known each other since elementary. If one of us needs something, we’re all right there. We are the type of friends that will make jokes about each other but once someone else says something negative, we stick up for them. My favorite memories are with my friends. Those include a wide variety of jumping out of a car, to crashing parties, and making a huge slip and slide in a backyard.
The occupation that is the second highest in contributing to society, per a 2013 survey taken by the Pew Research Center, is teachers, who were only behind military; which means that the characteristics and priorities that teachers hold will have a big impact on society. That also means that the teacher candidates are required to have felicitous qualities that properly utilize and better influence society. In order to best take advantage of that influence on society through their interaction with their students, the teachers should have a personality that can encourage learning and motivate the students. There are many types of personalities, but there some that are crucial to accomplishing this task.
According to William Arthur Ward, “The mediocre teacher tells, the good teacher explains, the superior teacher demonstrates, and the great teacher inspires.” To live in a universally competitive world, today’s students will need creativity, problem-solving skills, a hunger for learning, and a devoted work attitude and lifelong learning opportunities. Students can develop these abilities through teachers based on Best Practice teaching strategies.
I also learned from my students that they recognize the need for good, quality educators and that if a weakness even appears to be present, it will come out in the classroom one way or another, and the students will be the first to rate a teachers level of preparedness and professionalism. Teachers should not be intimidated by this, but instead, use it to enhance student
