Project Implementation, Control, and Termination Paper and Presentation
Project management is the “application of knowledge, skills and techniques to execute projects effectively and efficiently” (What is project management?). Using project management allows management to assign tasks to employees whereas they focus on the everyday operations. This paper will propose a parking garage by showing that there is a need for it, by identifying stakeholders, determining goals, creating a time line and budget, and developing a plan or a statement of work that will outline the steps of this project. Team B will also identify the

Finding the right location is top priority for this project. The garage must not be far away from either the shopping complex or the casinos. If it is the project may fail because it does not alleviate the inconvenience of walking for the shoppers. The projected length of time for this project is 12-18 months. This takes the weather into account and gives ample time for any unforeseen problems with suppliers, contractors, the city, and any permit problems.
Budget
The national average of a five level parking garage is approximately 145,000 square feet (Reed Construction Data, 2012). The project will require the hiring of an architect and a contractor. The architect duties will include creating a schematic design and draft floor plans, finalize drawings, obtain necessary permits and serve as the development manager of the project. The contractor will provide the services and materials need for the job and is responsible in hiring subcontractors. The national average for the cost per square foot to build a five level parking garage is between $50 and $70 (FixR, 2011). On average masons and excavators charge $70 per hour, electricians charge $65 to $85 per hour and plumbers charge somewhere between $45 and $65 per hour, so this project will take into consideration all of the hourly rates for all specialties (FixR, 2011). Taking from the national average costs this project will cost $65 a square foot
For my business, I decided to open up an up-scale designer clothing store. In the city I live, we have a good amount of clothing stores but almost all are found at the local malls. I plan to find a large unit that’s surrounded by many businesses along with steady traffic flow.
Projects are used today as a way of achieving a variety of outcomes in local or international locations for new constructions, new product development, product improvement, process design, process improvement, utility installation, theory and technology development, and many more. Bringing a project to a successful conclusion requires the integration of numerous management functions like controlling, directing, team building, communication and others. It also requires cost and schedule management, technical and risk management, conflict and stakeholder 's management, and life cycle management.
The future of an innovative industry resource designed to ensure that the lessons from the successful London 2012 construction programme are retained for other projects has been guaranteed.
1. Explain why understanding technology, especially in the areas of security and ethics, is important for a CEO. How do a CEO’s actions affect the organizational culture?
The criteria for this analysis is based on survey feedback provided by users of the parking deck to include businesses’ employees, shoppers, visitors attending meetings, tourists, and local government employees. In addition, the evaluator performed a visual inspection of the parking facilities. A review of maintenance logs was also conducted.
The thing about concrete garages is that they are going to be a permanent structure as well as it will need a perfect planning and even permission regarding how
This paper is an attempt to satisfy the needs of an owner to make an educated decision in choosing a project delivery system for their project. With the introduction of Bridging method of project delivery, it is a challenging task for the owner to make a decision about the most suitable method of project delivery for the geographic location of their project. As, it requires historical data about performance of similar projects or the owners can obtain data from research conducted by scholars/organizations.
Complex Medical staff is responsible for overnight emergency services for approximately 4200 correctional inmates. This capstone project will provide the creation and consolidation of Emergency Department Complex Medical Team department records/procedures into an HTML database. The project designs and methods paper will detail the capstone project design and methods used to obtain necessary project related documents. The paper will also look at the role of interdisciplinary collaboration and ethical considerations.
According to the Associated General Contractors of New York State, “The construction industry is the second largest employer in the US, second only to all government employees including the armed forces.” (Associated General Contractors of New York State, 2014). This is a staggering number. However, in spite of this, the industry has suffered a decline in labor productivity beginning in the 1960’s that has continued its trend since that time and seems to be in no hurry to reverse its course (Teicholz, 2013). This paper will explore how Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) can be implemented by the construction industry to solve this issue by greatly decreasing (or even in some cases, eliminating) low productivity and waste, time/cost
Construction projects can be extremely complex and fraught with uncertainty. Risk and uncertainty can potentially have damaging consequences for the construction projects. Therefore nowadays, the risk analysis and management continue to be a major feature of the project management of construction projects in an attempt to deal effectively with uncertainty and unexpected events and to achieve project success. Risk is inherent on construction projects and disputes frequently arise. One in four construction projects results in a dispute that leads to arbitration or litigation. With large scale, complex projects the likelihood of serious, time-consuming and expensive claims increases.
The implementation phase of the project includes Lewin’s second stage, Moving. Yonder-Wise (2015) states that the arranged and strategic interventions and strategies are implemented to support the execution of the change ( p. 308). This second segment is compared to Lippitt, Watson, and Westley steps four, five, and six. These phases include selecting the change objective, deciding the appropriate roles for the change agent, as well as preserving the change (Mitchell, 2013). This nurse made the appropriate arrangements needed with the office manager to print the educational tools for the nurses. The ink and paper used was provided by funds from the education department. Theses were then added to a folder at both of
This paper includes an outline of a presentation, command terms and definitions, examples of graphs and a Work Breakdown Schedule (WBS) on project management, and presented to the class at Crescent View High School. The focus will be on how to plan, schedule, monitor, and report on projects. Also included are the project management methodologies, tools and techniques used. The discussion to the class will begin with an opening statement that provides an overview of project management, terms and definitions, and an example of buying a house utilizing project management to manage activities.
There is an old adage which insists “time is money.” While simple, in concept, it has been shown to be true, matter of fact. In a a world where has been becom global, technically driven society, however, the idea of time has changed in the global industry. Where industries were more of a nine to five, but now the industries because of the global influence has turned into a twenty four seven type business. Because of the people, organization, and the location has caused this. With this shift in perception, organizations, especially, have taken on the greater challenge of ensuring efficiency in their operations, allowing their customers the freedom and peace of mind to have access to the products or services they purchased without interruption. In order for this twenty four seven industry to work, sometimes we tend to forget about the IT comapanies that allow for this realization of freedom and this peace of mind possible.
The project execution phase of the Project Management Lifecycle is exactly where the work gets done. This is the third phase of the project management life cycle, after Initiation and planning phase project enter into execution phase. In this phase literally project get start to build. Whether it is the building house of a project, changing a process project, or anything kind of project in between, where we can say that the work has begun.
The proposal writing process is multifaceted, encompassing both the actual submission of a request for proposal as well as the management of the implementation of received funds. Through class lectures and assigned readings, we’ve discussed the various aspects that make up the process of grant writing. Through this essay, I will explain this process as it leads up the management of the project once funded. Furthermore, this essay will explain how to ensure that the proposal submitted addresses key aspects necessary for the project to be implemented in line with best practices for project management.
