Qualitative Study Evaluation
Evaluation of the Title
The title of this research study is: The internet and student research: teaching critical evaluation skills. I believe that this title is suitable for the research study because it is an overview of the information that relates the point of the study itself which indicates a connection between students and their use of the internet when it comes to utilizing the internet as a research tool. The study reflects the central phenomenon by exploring

I thought this was a clever way to gain subjects rather than just asking them in person. Another aspect of success was how the researcher encouraged the teacher to integrate this study in her curriculum. I also loved the fact that this research topic was open to other educational departments such as technology and geographic courses. The second study was a research site and subject description which focused on diversity within the socioeconomic group but participants were all Caucasians decent. The third study consists of students completing a pre-data analysis survey on their knowledge of the internet and their use of it. The results showed that 71% of students used the internet as a research tool and 85% students did not choose to use the internet or do not know how to use it. The fourth and final study was the action plan for teaching students how to evaluate the internet. The six steps included: 1. Get the students’ motivated about the internet- research showed that students do use the internet but they need skills of internet know-how in order to be successful with research 2. An overview of how to evaluate critical sources and process the internet terminology- students should be provided with as assessment to measure where they have improved. 3. Applying the process to the model internet Sites- Using the model teachers
The Net Effects on Students. It has been observed that the net has strongly influenced students, whether good or bad the effects are extreme. In the article “Will the Net Replace Thinking?” by Laura session stepp, it is explained how the internet has affected students in their way of thinking and the way of doing school work. She explained some advantages, but mostly disadvantages of using the internet.
Qualitative and quantitative research assume an instrumental part in item advancement. Information acquired from the quantitative research incorporate client inclinations, socioeconomics, and advertise measure offers imperative data which is utilized for business basic leadership. Qualitative research gives information which is utilized to the plan of an item, and client prerequisites. Both of the methodologies have qualities and shortcomings which ought to be tended to when doing an exploration procedure. There are advantages which are collected from consolidating the two techniques. Quantitative investigation is communicated in numbers. Information in quantitative research is in numeric frame, so measurable tests are pertinent. The depiction of measurements which can be utilized incorporates standard deviation, mean, and middle. Measurable investigation empowers the specialists to infer huge certainties. In this view, the paper will talk about Qualitative and quantitative research concentrating on their focal points and inconveniences.
In the first article chosen, “Why are Nurses Leaving? Findings From an Initial Qualitative Study on Nursing Attrition,” the research method used was qualitative. The specific type of research design used was phenomenology. The participants were interviewed about their person experience of what it was like working as a registered nurse. The research question for this study was, “What is the experience of RNs who leave clinical nursing?” The sample is registered nurses (RN) with a minimum of 1 year of clinical practice and no clinical practice in the last 6 months. The sample size was ten, which were a majority of females (80%),
The stated purpose of the article was to evaluate not only pain control in adolescents who underwent a spinal fusion, but also the emotional/psychological and physical affect it had on them. Another stated purpose was to uncover the pre-operation education and preparedness for the surgery. Is it enough to prepare
Gipsh et al.’s (2004) study design was non-experimental exploratory survey and the study sampling was a non-probability convenience sampling strategy. As shown in table 1, a total of 42 participants, aging 47 to 83 years and with 31% men and 69% women, were recruited in the study (Gipsh et al., 2004).
In this assignment, various research with regards to different agendas will be discussed and broken down into the approaches that were conducted and the results of these researches. The first study that will be analyzed will be; Factors Involved in Recovery from Schizophrenia: A Qualitative study of Thai Mental Health Nurses. The authors for this research study were; Kaewprom, Chettha; Curtis, Janette; Deane, Frank P. The main point of this study was to investigate international methods, such as those conducted in Thailand and compare and contrast them with American psychiatric approaches in order to improve the
The article I chose to discuss is: Davis, H. A., & Bowman, S. L. (2015). Examining experiences of weight-related oppression in a bariatric sample: A qualitative exploration.
The internet is something that has affected the last few generations. Today's students are affected immensely because they are young, impressionable, and exposed to many more resources through the internet. In Andrea Lunsford’s article, “Our Semi-Literate Youth? Not So Fast,” she and her research team prove that, when used wisely, the internet is not harming students and enhancing their writing skills. In Nicholas Carr's article, “Hal And Me,” he writes through personal and second hand experiences about how the internet is reducing people's ability to absorb information. Many people have different opinions on technology. The ongoing debate is whether or not the internet is affecting people, mostly the younger generations, in a bad way or in a good way.
c. Generally speaking, the question do not differ in relationship to the type of study
Research Question: Does inadequate education play a role in incorrect use of inhalation devices in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)?
Death is something that we all have to deal with, be it in our profession or in our daily lives. This article discusses the reasons why caring for dying patients is stressful for nurses and is a high risk for burn out. The article also gives findings related to the study and gives recommendations based on the results. The study shows that education is needed for the nurses that care for the dying patient.
Research methodology generally involves qualitative research or quantitative research, or a mixture of both. A quantitative research methodology involves the analysis of data collected from a large number of surveys or interviews. On the other hand, methodologies for qualitative research often involve using surveys or interviews to collect information about people — their attitudes, experiences and behaviors.
One of the two articles reviews by me was a quantitative study to find out the incidence of sports injuries occurring in adolescents (6-18yrs) playing ball games: soccer, handball and basketball by Yde et al, where the number of sports injuries, their pattern and mechanism were quantified into numerical values to support a hypothesis. Other was to find the psychosocial status of injured players during their injury-rehabilitation phase: a qualitative research by Clement et al where the psychological state viz. cognitive appraisal, behavioral responses and emotional responses during the three main phases viz. injury, rehabilitation and returning to sports. The key difference between the researchers of the two studies was that the qualitative researchers wanted to
The qualitative data that is collected from my group assessment would be analyzed by reviewing the data collected to gain an understanding of the material then to process the material by examining the data for common patterns of routine. The information that many generalist social workers find out during an intake interview, it very limited information that aid in assisting the client. A lot of the times clients are not forth coming about everything that is happening in their lives.
The Internet is the key to development. In the United States, the Internet has a positive effect on education. It has broadened the amount and kind of resources accessible for research, provided students successful techniques for collaboration (discourse boards and forums), and has allowed for social networking to become not as formal and more widespread. The internet has the potential to be an enormous force for augmentation by giving fast and inexpensive information. It has turned into an instructive means for students, expanded communication, and allowed learning of all subjects to be shared.
