John 11 : 1-44
When Mary and Martha (the sisters of Lazarus) called for Jesus because their brother was ill ... Jesus sent a message to Mary and Martha, telling them that the sickness that had stricken Lazarus "was not for death, but for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it!". Through this message Jesus was setting them up to witness the almighty power of God.
Rather than rushing to Lazarus (whom Jesus Loved), he finally arrived after Lazarus had been dead four days!
Jesus thanked His Father publicly by lifting His head and saying, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.”
John 2:1-11 is the story of when Jesus performs one of his most famous miracles. During a wedding in Cana, Jesus turned water into wine. Jesus’s mother Mary was also in attendance to the wedding. The main story of this passage begins when Mary informs Jesus that they have run out of wine to serve. Jesus answers, “Women, what does you concern have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” However, a Jesus soon instructs some men to fill six water pots with water and serve the water to the guests. When the guests taste the water, they find that it has been turned into wine.
Analysis of the Gospel of John 1:1-6 and its comparison with Genesis 1 and 2: 1-3 and Proverbs 8 gives us insight into how a Christian text references Hebrew texts implicitly and explicitly. In chapter one, verse 1-6, of the Gospel of John, we not only witness the explicit references from Genesis and Proverbs, but also see how different ideas present in the two Hebrew texts have been reframed by the Gospel of John. We see a highlight of this reframing in the verse one of the Gospel of John, which states, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” In this verse, for instance, the notion of “The Word” is, one could argue, similar in its meaning and connotation to the idea of “Wisdom” present in
John saw God do a lot of great things. John wrote about when Jesus turned water into wine. Jesus was at a wedding when the host ran out of wine. He did not know what to do. Jesus told them to fill up the jars with water, and then said take some to the master of the house. The man who took the water was very nervous, and did not think it would work. When the master tasted the water and it was wine. John also wrote about Jesus healing people at the pool. Jesus saw a man lying by the pool wanting to get in. But every time he would get close to the pool, someone else would get there
the statement by Jesus to God when He is being crucified and asks his Father to
God Hath raised him from dead, thou shalt be saved.” Therefore, God manifested his love to
When contrasting First John to Second and Third John, you notice how First John lacks the typical stylistic features of a letter. However, the genre of First John is an epistle. This outstanding book joins twenty other letters in the New Testament. First John is probably best regarded as a written sermon or pastoral address. Walt Russell gives us clear principles when reading and interpreting an epistle. He states the following steps: read the whole epistle in one setting the get the big idea of the letter and its main contours, think in terms of the paragraphs being the main units of thought, knowing the structure of epistles helps you know where you are in the letter, and do some background reading in order to understand better the

Verse 11 and then verses 32-33 seem to say that since God has already given his son and raised him he will certainly follow through with the easier part of his plan in giving us spiritual life, justifying us, glorifying us, and adopting us to be heirs with Christ. God does so much work on our behalf. He will work out salvation in all of those whom he has elected and nothing can thwart him, distract him, or take us out of his hands.
In the Gospel of John, John is portraying God and Jesus, as more than just a man who came into existence, He is God. Jesus meets with a man named Nicodemus and informed him that nobody can go to heaven unless they have been “Born-Again”. Throughout these reading Jesus claims to be God himself. He states that he is the resurrection and the life. The last 24 hours of Jesus’ life was discussed in chapters 13-17, from the Last Supper to the burial death and resurrection of Christ.
The 7 “I Am” Statements In the book of John, Jesus makes several statements beginning with “I Am.” Jesus used these statements as examples of what happens after someone becomes saved. They have different meanings but they are all basically about the same thing. I am the Bread of Life.
In today’s scripture, the Book of John, a large crowd followed Jesus because they saw the signs that Jesus was doing for the sick. The people probably wanted Jesus to heal a sick part of their body or to heal a person who was sick in their family members. The people followed Jesus, maybe dragging a
