This week the major activities were to continue support students. I was able to follow up my target students, most of them have show a good redirection in their behaviors, but I was concerned about one case, this time the student hurt herself again, in spite all the efforts from her foster parents. It is a difficult situation for this student, she has been working with different resources from the county and now the Crisis Team is involved. It is going to be challenging to work with her because she is losing the faith in everyone. She has an in home therapist. I will continue to monitor her. I feel that for her history, many people have being working with her and she probably feels overwhelmed by people knowing her life. Another major activity

Week two of field observation at Crestone Charter School. My Second week of field observations was really fun and interactive. I had the opportunity to work with several students from the k-1 class with special needs. We traveled to several reading stations and did a read along with the fourth and fifth-grade students. At arrival, I met with the main Para, Ammie Morphet and was informed that Lexi whom is one of the charter schools highest priority/needs students was the student I would be working with. Lexi usually has a personal in class Para that works with her throughout the day, but she was out sick. Since I know Lexi and have personal experience working with her we came to the conclusion that it would be best if I assisted with Lexis daily routine and any other classroom needs. This allowed Mrs. Morphet to attend to the other students she had previously scheduled for us to meet with.

She took the time out to interview each child and properly observe the children in their home setting. She also addressed any concerns or questions that the Foster Parents had.

I worked in Breezeway from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. This week became a little bit challenge than few weeks before because when I lead the peer group in the morning. Our topic for this week was ”What is good day and what is bad days”. There is a client (client A) mentioned about his childhood abuse and substance abuse experience. Sharing the how he felt and how he used coping skill to solve the problem. When I heard the experience about him, I felt very sorry for him how he went through the miserable youth time. In addition, I also very impressed that other peers came to him and gave him a hug which showed great empathy for him. Although I was very glad that he was very brave and courage to say it out loud but when he was sharing his story,
Student personnel point of view encompasses the student as a whole. The concept of education is broadened o the student’’s well rounded development- physically, socially, emotionally and spiritually as well as intellectually. (sppv) Student affairs not only emphasize on academic excellence but to shape each individual as a unique human by providing a holistic learning and living environment. Student Affairs professionals play a pivotal role in the development of the students. By applying different theories in student development, they can foster student learning to help them shape their identity. Student affairs staff members must view themselves as educators to refute the belief that learning is held only in the classroom. (contested issue, 29). Learning does not only occur in the classroom but through out of class activities as well. Student affairs staff should talk about student learning and development to enhance the multiplicity of growth areas for students in higher education. These learning and development experiences do not simply happen to students. They happen with their active involvement.
