Walter and Lucille Harper Transfer Scholarship Essay First of all, I would like to explore my field of study. I intended to major Manufacturing Engineering Technology when I transfer into Western Michigan University after I graduated in Associate in Science from Kellogg Community College in August 2016. I have chosen this program to be my field of study in the University because of what I had learned about its career field. After doing some researches on the Internet and meet a career advisor, I believe that this career path fits my personal abilities and interest the best. I also like the academic courses that required for this field in order to earn a bachelor degree from such as Mathematics and Physics. Secondly, I will discuss my
I believe that I am a good candidate for the Amy L. McKee-Everett Memorial Scholarship due to my caring and loving nature. An excellent example would be the time I gave back to Flat Rock River YMCA Camp this year, during New Years Eve. I volunteered as a counselor to a group of amazing girls. I wanted to volunteer my time, seeing that Flat Rock had done so much for me, in my seven years as a camper. It was time to give back. The 53 hours of time I spent helping out with all the girls, was immensely rewarding. I wouldn't trade my experiences I have had with Flat Rock River YMCA Camp for the world. This experience made me a better person, and will carry over into my undergraduate years of college. I am going into my freshman year bearing skills
I have lived in West Liberty all my life, with my parents Corie and Ronda Peterson and my younger sister Morgan. I love golfing especially with my friends and family as well as spending time outdoors in the summer. My mother is my biggest inspiration because while she was fighting cancer she not only stayed strong for my sister and I but also she has taught me to be strong and to believe in who I am and who I will become. I am extremely excited to be furthering my education at Mount Mercy University to become a neonatal nurse, this scholarship will help me with my financial insecurities making me more confident to pursue my dreams.
One of my anticipated goals would be to increase overall safety of the transportation sector. I believe that an education in mechanical engineering would furnish me with the ability to lead a productive life as well as usher in changes in the commercial automotive industry.
Upon visiting the campus, the sprawling Green lawns and Gothic- style Architecture captivated me. I felt suddenly at home. The close-knit community, wonderful Scottie sisters, and the great town of Decatur made the college much more inviting. I chose to apply to Agnes Scott because of the rigorous academics, the exciting Study Abroad activities both domestic and international, and the extremely dedicated professors who truly value you and your education. Agnes Scott is full of strong, female leaders who show empowerment and a community of unity. I truly believe that Agnes Scott is a college that will change my
My desire was to challenge myself and pursue my belief in life-long learning. And yes, the last eight weeks have definitely been a challenge intellectually in IDS 101. After the first two weeks of school, I seriously questioned why I would go back to school at fifty-one years of age for personal satisfaction. The days were long and I wasn’t sure I still had the self-discipline and determination that would be needed to finish. Over the last eight weeks, this class gave me numerous opportunities to hone my skills in critical thinking, research, and writing. This class has given me the necessary skills to continue toward completing my degree.
The basic definition of psychology is the study of human minds and there function, with respect to the affects the human mind has on behavior. The field of psychology is one of the most diverse fields that continue to expand and branch out into a plethora of distinguishing subfields; some subfields include retail marketing, legal work, social work and education (Sternberg, 2007). When deciding what career path to select one has to consider the level of education and scholarship they are willing to pursue. Pursuing and completing an undergraduate degree will earn an individual the title of a reflective scholar. A reflective scholar is a graduate that has completed a Bachelors or Bachelorette degree. Next, is the practitioner-scholar, which, is an individual that has graduated with a Masters degree. Following the practitioner-scholar is the scholar-practitioner, who is a graduate that has complete a program at a Doctoral level (McClintock, 2003). Each level of scholarship entails a pristine level of knowledge about the practices, strategies and techniques needed to establish quality and efficient
The future; after high school, after college, the future is a later time period that will happen in one’s life. For my future I plan to attend college and later become an engineer. College is one of the best choices available for high school graduates to ensure a successful future. Colleges offer specialized learning that when attended can open many opportunities. Two colleges I may attend after high school are Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) or California Institute of Technology (Caltech). After college I plan to choose a career in the field of engineering. Two career possibilities are Aerospace Engineering or Biomedical Engineering. By researching these two universities and two possible careers, I have learned about the many possibilities that lie ahead for my future.
The Grays Harbor Community Foundation Scholarship hasn't just helped my education but it has helped me achieve my dream of going to college. Without the scholarship I don't know how I would have came up with the money to pay for college, and for that I am grateful.
Texas A&M constantly reminds me and encourages the students to be a part of something bigger than themselves. This is important because it gives each student a feeling of responsibility to leave this campus better than they found it. At most colleges the students only have the common ground of attending the same university, however at Texas A&M its more than just a university but rather a family. This is one of the major aspects that brought me to A&M, I had heard about the Aggie family and how it is unlike any other college in the nation. In my years here, I have experienced the Aggie family and watched how strangers are bonded just knowing they make up a family together. Each member of a family has responsibilities to help out and serve their
Over the past two years, Oklahoma Baptist University has proven to be a life-changing place for me. I have learned not just about studying and preparing myself for a future career, but also invaluable truths and life lessons that I will never forget.
Johns Creek is the city of differentiated diversity. With cozy Korean bakeries, grand Indian corner stores, and delectable Japanese restaurants, Johns Creek provides an environment for every culture to feel at home in. Although there are many cultures, everyone is scrunched up together in the city, allowing citizens to feel welcomed. I feel safe in my community and school. Johns Creek is a habitat for many minorities and prejudiced culture who seek haven. 54% of my school constitutes of different cultures allowing me to assimilate other cultures and their interests; however, when I visited Emory for a college visit, I realized that it is not so different from home. The first thing I noticed on the pavement was the words of “Korean Culture Club”
I have spent a great deal of time researching the college that would fit my lifestyle and able to offer tailored programs to fit me. Finally, I decided on Empire State College (ESC), the reason being, ESC’s capability to work in the capacity that I am seeking. The fact that ESC also has a great Military/Veteran program is an enormous plus, and something that I require in a college. Another feature that drove my decision to apply is I will have the opportunity to gain credits from my life experiences. This is a remarkable feature. I have always held the belief that the experience one gains in their career is just as, and at times more, valuable as what one receives in a classroom.
There are many exceptional things in the city of Johns Creek. What I think makes Johns Creek the most extraordinary and the greatest community in Georgia, is the citizens who live there and all of the public services available for your use.
Berry College offers legitimate access to world class faculty, a phenomenal international studies program, and a stunning campus.
After graduation my ideal plan would be to go into an industry career. I want to get into an engineering-related job first to provide myself with some experience in that aspect of the field. I want to be selective in choosing the company that I begin my career with. I want to ensure that the company that I choose has a program related that aids in helping their employees get advanced degrees. During my first year in my career I want
