A true friendship is a bond between two people that care equally about each other and put the other person ahead of them for that person’s benefit. Friendships are given to people to show that someone cares about them. Friendships teach you how to care for someone, always do what is better for that person, and trust the people that stay with you.

What defines a friendship? I believe friendship has no definition. Through my fifteen years on this earth I have developed an understanding of how friendship works, but I don’t feel there is a perfect definition for what it means to be a friend. Out of all the friendships I have had I cannot say there is a single one the same. Friends are often described as people one can relate to, but I have found I don’t have to relate to someone to form a friendship. For example, I enjoy becoming friends with people from different walks of life. These friends help expand my knowledge. Friends are people who I can connect to, and friends are people I can learn from. Friends are repeatedly portrayed as people one can confide secrets to, but I also have friendships

To define friendship is not easy. It is so many things and so many feelings. It is kindness, compassion, honesty, trustworthiness, respect and dependability.
