Seniors in El Dorado County, California, will find that participating in recreational activities will help to rejuvenate and refresh their mind, body or both. Getting active will also aid in reducing their stress. Here are local senior-friendly activities that seniors will find enjoyable and beneficial:

Throughout High School past students, teacher, and fellow scholars have told me to “Start thinking of a Senior Project Idea”, for me, at least I feel I’ve heard this remark since I was a Freshman. So I did, I thought and I thought, but it always seemed like I just kind of saw someone else's project and said to myself “ok, I’ll do that”, but I had come to recognize that I don’t want my project to be like somebody else, I want my project to be unique. When I started brainstorming my project I wanted to something with sports Baseball or Basketball, whichever one I could really think of a powerful meaningful idea. To be honest when I first started to brainstorm ideas I guess that I felt more that the idea was going to flow to me, but then I realized that I had to reach out and seek opportunities
The equipment is also out of the price range for most college students. Students would be looking at spending around $3788 for the kind of lab equipment used at DeVry. By creating an inexpensive and portable oscilloscope, function generator, and power supply that fits in one box about the size of a brief case we've addressed the primary issues associated with this equipment.
Another fun lifetime sport to play at any age is tennis. Tennis tends to be a highly active sport and will require a bit more energy than walking and playing golf. Tennis is played on a court that is fenced off to prevent balls from flying away. The court has a square that the players and ball must stay inside and the square is separated by a net that the ball must go over. It is a game that can be played by two or four people at one given time. The first score is worth 15 points, the second is worth 15 and the last is worth 10. Once a player reaches 40 points and then wins one last round he/she wins the match. The required equipment is a tennis racquet and tennis balls. Females generally wear skirts and a loosely fitting shirt for better arm range of motion, while males wear shorts or jeans and a loosely fitting t-shirt. Since tennis is a rather face-paced and rigorous sport good
How many times have you driven past your local tennis courts and seen them filled with happy kids running around and smiling? Probably more than once. Tennis is a popular sport, played all over the world and loved by many. However, more people should play this wonderful sport. It can be played at any age, and at any walk of life, be ye teenager or 65 year old lady. In fact, everyone should play tennis due to its development of physical fitness, mental health, and social skills.
Many people in today's society are not happy with the outsourcing that is happening in our country. Many people believe that the outsourcing is taking millions of jobs from our economy. Industries are given tax breaks when they move to an area and the government thinks and knows that they will bring in thousands or millions of dollars in revenue. Outsourcing also hurts our economy because it is putting us farther into our deficit. Outsourcing is not a good thing because they move to new countries so they do not have to pay American taxes, it hurts our economy, and one of the only ways that they will stay in our country is to take tax breaks.
The object of this course and this project is to provide you with a realistic situation that you are likely to face in the real world business environment. You'll be working with limited information, limited support from your client, within a limited time frame - and yet, you have to get up to speed in a new area quickly, and make informed professional recommendations based on your research and analysis.
Yes, I agree with you that people are living much longer thanks to advances in technology and medicine. Thus, the older adults (I prefer to use the term older than elderly or geriatric), is one group of the population that Healthy People 2020 has assigned a separate topic of concern. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggested that any health promotion for the older adult has to take into consideration the psychosocial determinants of health. Given that older adults may not have the physical strength or stamina of the younger population, participation in physical activities should be encouraged (Healthy People 2020). If you don’t mind I would like to suggest that you include some kind of activity in your program
The two major health components covered in this class was physical health and social health. Physical health “refers to the way that the body function.” This definitely consist of regular exercise. Since the class was mainly consisted of strength training exercises, it gave older adults strength and energy. This can play a major role in preventing some illnesses. Social health is the quality of one’s relationship with his/her friends and family. I feel like the instructor was also trying to get older adults to work together during the exercises. I saw older adults helping each other out when it came to stretching. This would be a good class for older adults to attend if they wanted to meet new people. The
A Senior Project should be a graduation requirement in Sandwich. That was the unanimous vote of school committee members when presented with the program of studies by Dr. Ellin Booras in December of 2015. It was an excellent one.
For my Senior Exit Project, I would like to shadow a neurologist, the doctor concerned with diseases and disorders of brain and spinal cord. I expect to see patients of all neurological statuses coming in for examinations and tests such as MRIs and CT scans. The types of patients I will most likely see will range from Alzheimer's and autism to epilepsy and infections. With the skills I currently have, I will most likely be helping the neurologist with the initial workup, so that will mean taking blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and checking their neurological status using the Glasgow Coma Scale. I have learned these skills though the JTED Healthcare Foundations class and have been tested off accordingly so I know I am proficient in
As Prince Sports targets many groups differently this outreach program could then be used to implement programs directed at junior players as well as the casual/recreational player. Prince Sports could engage younger players by implementing a program where they offered free lessons on how to play tennis and donated supplies to schools and clubs. Young kids like to do things that will keep them active, but often change their minds about what interests them. They are not the determining factor in whether or not they will be able to join a new activity; their parents are the ones who will end up deciding if they can become involved in a new sport. So it is the parents who need to be convinced that their child will remain interested in the sport for longer than a couple of weeks. By providing free lessons to young players their parents will have the opportunity to gauge whether or not their child actually enjoys playing and if they’ll stay with the sport before investing a lot of money in supplies and lessons. Golf: Golf courses like RedGate, Woodmont Country Club, Lakewood Country Club, Manor Country Club provide fine greens for seniors to get outdoor activity.
My proposal for my Senior Project is to transition and streamline the Evans City PTO digital infrastructure for the next PTO Board. My mother has been the PTO President at Evans City Elementary & Middle School for the past six years. When the school became paperless, the PTO needed to change what they were doing to adhere to the policy. As a result, I was asked by the Board to aid in the transition to digital. In doing this, I designed and created a multipage, comprehensive public website and digitalized all PTO documents and forms. I also investigated and came up with solutions for data management and transitioned it to a new email service. Also in this transition, I set up the PTO’s social media platforms; essentially I “modernized” the Evans City PTO. Over the years, I have always been a big help in managing the data,
The purpose of our health fair event is to educate and encourage older adults to remain active in their daily lives. Physical health is beneficial throughout one’s entire lifespan. Incorporating regular exercise into your daily routine will prevent chronic disease, improves their overall mood, and lowers their chances of injury (Aldwin & Gilmer, 2013, Chapter 5). As we go through the aging process, our bodies require us to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Moderate exercise is favorable for people of all ages. Elderly people living with chronic illnesses can also participate in moderate physical activity. Medical conditions, such as dementia, heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure can all be improved by including regular exercise into an individual’s routine (Chronic Illnesses, PowerPoint).
The proposed document must be constructed to demonstrate the need for a new for-profit transportation service. It will present a business plan, and then go into detail about characteristics specific to this service.
