My favorite two places I normally shop are Macy’s and Old Navy. I always get quality clothes and items from these stores. Both stores are really good in marketing their products both online and in-store as well as use social media to engage their customers. Both store sells quality brands but Old Navy is a cheaper than Macys. Both stores promote special deals both online and in store such as percentage discount and free shipping with an amount of purchase to obtain such deal.

Nordstrom today is known as one of the most innovative department stores because they are always coming out with new ways to improve their stores and delivery system to make it easier for employees and customers. One way Nordstrom is doing this is by implementing their program “Buy Online, Pickup in Store”. When shopping online you can find an item you would like to buy and if you need it in the upcoming days instead of between three to eight business day, which is the usual shipping time, you can see if it is in a store near you and then purchase it online and then the “Buy Online, Pickup in Store” team will go around the store to find your items and then you pick it up in the store at the service bar so you do not even have to go to the department that it was purchased from. I have as a customer used this program numerous times, one time I used it to pick up a last minute dress for an upcoming dance so I picked it up the same day I bought it online and it was a quick and easy process.

You have probably already heard all about the Walmart stores that are going out of buisness. Not all Walmarts are closing but a nice amount of them are. I have to be honest, thought, I'm not really surprised. Walmart has never been my favorite store. It's the store I go to when no other place has what I'm looking for, and there is just not enough time to order it online. Or when I need to re-stock on my camping gear.

Let’s fast forward a few weeks. You’re out buying an Xbox One Halo bundle. Sound’s quite pricey. With the Xbox you can watch movies, play games(even with your friends), listen to music, use your favorite apps. There’s so much to it! On Best Buy , its around $349.00. You get it, and you’re satisfied. But wait, remember the car? You just paid $399 for a remote that starts a car, and roughly the same price for a console with such high computer graphics and computer processing? Nope. Either you’re really rich, or your being fooled in the economy, and I’m sure we can all agree that most of us aren’t rich.

In today's society people shop while at work, after work and on the weekends, whenever time permits. Stop and think how can I get more time in the day for family or just myself? Advertising is a part of society that can’t be ignored. It’s purpose is to persuade people to go to that specific store or restaurant to consume a product. However, sometimes people don’t have the time to drive to the store and end up doing online shopping. Even on the online websites of the stores there’s certain things that they display to get the attention of customers. Even Though Forever 21 ads are rarely seen on television or on billboards, it’s seen advertised a lot on social media. Their page on Instagram has 14.1 million follower and more than half of them are teenage girls and young adult females. (@forever21) This store targets teenage girls and young adult woman as their customers due to the clothes and accessories that are sold. It has become a popular store among female teens and young female woman. That’s due to the fact that it allows their customers to buy trendy chic clothes at low prices. That is important especially because we’re living in a time in which people care a lot about how they look. The Forever 21 website lures customers by displaying current offers, exhibiting the different clothes they have, and the models they use on the pictures.

Warren Buffet once said that 'do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving'. The quotes tells us to be wise in spending money as the world today provides various ways to buy things such as online shopping and shopping at the mall. As I look back on my experience to buy items via online shopping and shopping at the mall, there are three features that I compromise which are the knowledge of items, the time taken to purchase items and the period to receive the items officially.

The traditional retail market has been transformed by technological advances. The internet today has allowed consumers to purchase various products from home ranging from apparel to groceries. The online shopping market has grown significantly within the past decade, leading to many online e-commerce startups such as Amazon, eBay, and mobile start-ups such as Instacart. Shopping which used to require walking or a vehicle trip to stores is no longer required for consumers with online shopping. Online shopping has appealed to consumers worldwide by encompassing the business aspect of service convenience which constitute saving time and/or effort (Jiang, Yang, and Jun, 2012).
