Commercial advertisements create a strong presence in the media due to the power of persuading the audience to buy a certain project. The commercial is promoting the use of diet coke and using Taylor Swift to do so. Diet Coke is a sugar free, soft drink that is very popular, it is promoted and distributed worldwide by Coca- Cola. Coca- Cola spends nearly $3.499 billion in advertisements yearly (Investopedia, 2015, 1). This ad catches the eye of the audience with the use of Taylor Swift and the adorable kittens. In this commercial, it is clear that with every sip the pop-culture singer takes of the Diet Coke, more kittens seem to appear in the apartment until the whole apartment becomes invaded with the tiny kittens. This advertisement efficiently delivers the point to the audience during the commercial video by encouraging them to drink their product Diet Coke while trying to increase the consumption of their product, attract more viewers, and sell more of their product.
In this ad, an Ethos or ethical appeal has a great impact using Taylor Swift as the “credible” actor, a famous American singer, and a songwriter. She’s attractive and has a beautiful clear skin. To the girls viewing this ad, it seems like Taylor uses the Covergirl foundation to give her that flawless skin making her face feel light weighted.
The next type of propaganda that is utilized in Apple’s plethora of advertisements is testimonial. Testimonial works in endorsements for products. The idea of sending a message with an endorsement is that one will mimic the chooses and life style of a celebrity or someone who seems to have it all together with a life full of luxuries or simply put is better than ones current state of life. Apple again can be found to do this with none other than Jamie Foxx in this ad
If it weren’t for the Covergirl logo that appears in delicate, soft green print across the top of Taylor’s photo, I would think that she was what’s for sale. But that’s kind of the point: Taylor Swift is a well-known and generally very well liked entertainer who appeals to a broad range of people. She is sweet and young and very attractive, but not over the top or overly adult, keeping her safe and accessible for a younger demographic. Who could ask for more? She is the epitome of the fine line we mentioned earlier – just the right balance between sexy and sweet and able to appeal to a wide range of women, women who have plenty of money to spend in the cosmetics industry, and a smart ad knows that. The product is of course mentioned to us at the bottom of the ad, so they are selling us make up; they just got us ‘in the door’ by selling us a little Taylor
The advertisement begins with a Pepsi can being opened with the song Lions by Skip Marley playing in the background. The camera then cuts to a man on the roof playing a violin. The camera then cuts to what a
Just like Taylor Swift's song, it started off with a blank space, 5 blank spaces.
Love her or hate her, one thing is certain, you've probably heard of Taylor Swift and know she is a country singer/songwriter. There are many reasons for Swift's meteoric rise to success, including songs that speak to youth and some powerful musicians who've helped her along the way.
This commercial has established more credibility by using a famous singer, Sarah McLachlan, as the spokesperson. Besides music, McLachlan is an activist for
This commercial is using an emotional appeal due to the humor. Also, this is a testimony by a popular music artist that she uses Apple Music. I do believe that this had an effective message because the humor really appealed to the youth masses. This commercial went viral within hours. Really what better publicity can you
In this commercial it starts of with a sad song performed by Sarah McLachlan, and a fact that “every hour an animal is beaten or abused”. This is a very good attention getter using the appeal
The commercial’s setting was humorous itself, considering that it’s two NBA stars who were in a recording studio rather than on a basketball court. James Harden decided to apply his talents to an R&B song. Curry starts off by stopping the song, and advising Harden “please don’t do this.” James Harden replied with, “but I have real talent.” As Harden’s song continued to play, I knew that he should definitely stick to basketball, not music. The producers had an uninterested expression on their face as Curry looked over at them. Towards the end of the commercial the song faded out and Harden became a bit embarrassed and asked, “What? Is that.. Is that me?” Finally recognizing how dreadful his voice is. The whole commercial was meant to be humors from beginning to end.
Recently, 24- year old country singer/popstar Taylor Swift released a music video “Shake it Off” which was I sort of introduction to her newest album 1989. The video received some backlash for it was seen by many as offensive, and stereotypical to African American Culture. In the video Swift dresses in what some may consider Hip Hop attire, attempts to “twerk” and even has a section where she partially sings as well as raps. She even uses talks about

According to Stacia Coates, "... the Black Eyed Peas, focuses on exposure before a paycheck. For years, they have allowed corporations to use their music in advertisements for cars, electronics, and jeans, among many other goods (Coates)." The commercials provide a fan base for the group, then the people start buying their songs instead of forcing a group on people like Apple, and U2 did back in 2014. Regarding Darrius Johnson, "...one of the worlds most popular rock bands, who, after landing a deal with Apple that had their 2014 album Songs of Innocence installed in 500 million iTunes subscribers' libraries for free, faced a storm of negative feedback from fans and critics alike (Johnson)." Although advertisements provide a way for new artist to become known, and sell their songs, they also can bring down profit
