The 5C’S of Effective Content Marketing

Content marketing is probably something that you’ve heard before, but if you haven’t, you should start learning about it! This marketing approach can help you create and distribute valuable and pertinent content to captivate and maintain a well-defined audience. Also, its primary intention is to change and enhance consumer behavior.

But the question is, what makes content marketing different? Well, traditional marketing has become less and less effective and it is all because consumers have changed the game. Now, they ignore magazine ads, fast forward commercials and have become more adept at online “surfing”, for the reason that, nobody likes to be sold! In other words, you are wasting time and effort trying to reach the audience. Nonetheless, you can prevent this by focusing on the complications and inclinations of the prospects with the purpose of later, adapting these with the product or service that you’re offering.

Since the Internet nowadays has disrupted the traditional sales process, the potential customers have changed the rules of this by their own terms. So, as a marketer, you need to find a way to present content with a different appearance. Instead of the traditional “selling approach”, you have to use a more appealing one, such as paying special attention to the prospect in an attempt to win their interest.

Lets say that every time a person has a problem or an inclination to something, he or she starts a “journey”. In this journey, this person will need our help and guidance in order to successfully complete it. It is our job as a marketer to mentor someone through this process until the prospect relates our product or service as something necessary in order to finish the journey.

Although the ultimate purpose of content marketing is to approach in a different way to the consumer without selling, subconsciously, it does focuses on the sales process, because at the end of the day, we need to market our product or service!
