Other departments worry about their objectives and strategies, whereas the HR department must apply their targets and strategy to the overall business’s goals to produce results. Regardless what other departments engage in, HR’s visibility, impact, and value in companies such as Best Buy is crucial to stay in existence.

1. The hygiene factors is an aspect of Herzberg's theory that focuses on the work setting, include adequate wages, comfortable and safe working conditions, fair company policies, and job security (Ferrell, Hirt, Ferrell, 2009, p. 271).
Then, data obtained from an observation day at doc’s shipping Ltd combined with a questionnaire given to employees and two interviews will be analysed. Finally, my findings are compared with the already established literature on culture.
Acuity’s and The Container Store’s approach toward motivation consistent with different need theories of motivation. Acuity’s “Lunch with an Officer” attributes to the love aspect of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. The wellness programs contribute to the employees’ physiological needs. At the Container Store, employees say that the company provides a great atmosphere, rewards, communication, and bosses, this attributes to esteem. It also allows employees to satisfy their achievement and affiliation needs.
The hygiene factors experienced at The Container Store as detailed by Herzberg are centered on the workplace conditions (Ferrell, Hirt & Ferrell, 2009). As an example, employees at Container Store receive almost 26 times the amount of employment training than their counterparts in other retail establishments. Additionally, a Container Store employee can expect to receive more than half again as much pay. Other factors which relate to hygiene as discussed in our case study are employee satisfaction days, emergency funds and other engagement-related events. It appears the entire culture surrounding the organization is employee-centric and designed to retain each one for the long term.
Considerable time is wasted by employees who find themselves in new environments where they work out in determining the interworking of different cultures. Different employees also depict different abilities and degrees to which they will adapt to the new culture, and this plays a huge role in hindering performance levels of the individual employee and hence the level of performance for the overall organization (Handin & Steinwedel, 2006). The low-performance levels will also lead to wastage of the organizational resources leading to the overall decline in the competitive advantage that is enjoyed by any firm in the business world. Different norms and expectations are brought to the front by any culture under study
