Dell or Apple The important difference between Macintosh (Mac), Apple Inc. and Dell Inc. computers are that they are designed to run different operating systems. While there is a multitude of software available on both systems, some programs are only compatible with one system or the other. Beyond this, the hardware is different in terms of functionality, materials and visual aspects. These factors lead to price differences, with Mac being commonly more expensive than the Dell counterpart. Although a number of solutions have been offered that make for the best of both worlds, the Mac and PC debate has been continuous for many years, yet there is still a split between the two, with Apple and Dell computers standing on either side. Both types of technologies have their own exclusive benefits and drawbacks. The users specific needs and requirements will determine which one is ultimately selected. Operating Systems Mac comes with the current Apple operating system (Mac OS) preinstalled, while Dell comes with an edition of the latest version of Microsoft Windows. With the two companies making constant updates, operating systems are well known for constantly changing in terms of cost and the amount of RAM and hard drive space they require. As of 2011, the latest Apple and Windows offerings require the same amount of RAM. However, Apple’s OS is less expensive and takes up less hard drive space. Another key difference is that Dell computers can run either a 32- or a 64- bit
In today’s society, consumers are looking for a product that is willing to do it all. A product must fit both professional and personal needs. There are many products out there but three of the most common include, Apple’s Macbook Pro, Apple’s Iphone 6, and Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3. All three of these devices have their advantages and disadvantages, but the one I feel is the greatest buy is the Mac Book Pro by Apple. It is important to compare the similarities and difference of all three of the popular devices.
Most of the people see Apple computers as “fancy expensive toys” but in fact they are beautiful and powerful tools. I have used both, in fact I started using Windows and of course being basically a monopoly everybody was forced to use windows by those days. The first version of windows I ever use was Windows 3.1 and despite almost every new version (except by ME and Vista) was in some ways improved it never reached the performance and stability of a OSX system. Lot of “ hardware connoisseurs” can say wait a minute! Apple computers have better hardware, but this was true until some years ago. Nowadays, most of PCs have similar or even more powerful hardware.
Since the dawn of the information age, computers have developed into a very important part of society. They are increasingly being integrated with numerous aspects of human life, and have become a necessity in many college and business settings. Two major corporations that capitalize on this integration are Microsoft and Apple, and while they may appear identical, the difference between Microsoft’s Personal Computer and Apple’s Macintosh becomes much more apparent when affordability, variety, and vulnerability are considered. Ultimately, a PC is a better purchase than a Macintosh.
| Having both Mac and PC operating systems will allow them to address the various needs of the company. PC is good for web design, while Mac is better for editing video.
This, of course, means competition, which in turn lowers prices. Macintosh systems are sold primarily sold in whole systems which are composed of RAM and processor speed, meaning that the consumer ends up with what Apple has decided should be included in the system. Windows systems, however, can be built to the consumer needs, or by the consumer themselves. They could select which part would be best for them for the price they would pay for it.
2. Reliability: Macs only run on Apple computers, and are thus less prone to hardware and software crashing.
Recently, Mac switched its central processing unit (CPU) to Intel creating a new competitive platform between the Macs and the PCs. Since the processors are now the same, the argument is: Macs are better than PCs as they can run their own operating system OS X as well as Microsoft’s operating systems XP &
There is a point in ones life where they are confronted with the arduous task of deciding what computer is best for them, this decision process is usually decided on a few factors which are price, reliability, security, storage space and of course the computers speed. In today’s economy buying a machine of value that works is hard to come by but one company has it figured out; it is time to invest in Apple computer. Apple is a company that was founded in 1976 by Steve Wozniak, Steve Jobs, and Ron Wayne in the hopes of making the PC personal again. The Apple revolution began in 1984 when Macintosh was introduced.
The PC and Mac can do all the same activities. Whether you want to browse the internet, check your e-mail, instant message, create documents or presentations, or listen, edit, create music or video, both a PC and a Mac can do all of these things correspondingly well. Mac and Windows are both compatible with handheld devices. Unlike the past when PCs were more open to viruses, the Mac is also open to such. To protect both devices from attacks, they updated with an anti-virus software. Both can be used by home owners, students, businessmen and so many more people. They can be made-to-order to a client’s preference; they both have voice commands, and use the mouse, maps and keyboard as their interface. Regardless of these similarities,
While shopping for a computer many people ponder if they should buy a MAC or Windows PC. It is a debate that has been ongoing since both computers came into the tech scene. There are loyal and devout followers to both companies and computers. For some, it can be a tough decision with the many options and features of each computer, but for others the choice to be made is not very tough to make. A Windows laptop is a better complete computer then a MAC book because of its ability to be used in a wide range of applications.
Issue 03: The weak area of Apple Inc. is the fact that most of its products are all available in the market. Consumers around the world have many options to popular hardware and software devices and operating systems. Since PCs are the one that are
As you can see, Macs and PCs differ and are alike in many different ways, such as: Its manufacturer, its software, and its conveniences. Computers aren’t actually all that similar. I hope that after you read this essay, you will think of PCs and Macs differently. When the word computer comes to mind again, consider the PC and the Mac and whatever else type computer there is as separate things, but not completely
Mac computer have always been the more expensive computer system to buy, but since Apple has been coming out with more and more products like the iPod, iPad, and iPhone and many PC users are converting over to Apple products because they like to have the ability to share music, photos, and documents easily through all the systems. Mac computer have also been designing their system to be small and elegant. For example, when you’re going to class you don’t want to sit there and have a big bulky computer that ways close to four pound, you want a computer that is slim and light and easy to transport. Mac computers have always made their products easy to carry around. Like everyone says you get what you pay for.
The operating systems are somewhat similar although the MacBook system is running on only Microsoft. They all have wide screen with high tech looks. They are all slim with high performance microprocessors. These are all three so similar, vendors make it impossible to choose from.
Apple's main competitors are Microsoft, Dell, Sony, Toshiba, Acer, HP, Nokia, etc. These all are highly specialized in their respective products. Today, the biggest challenge for
