In between these two incidents, he behaved violence very often. He pushed me to the wall, slapped me, squeezed my neck, squeezed my mouth, once he pushed me and I had a leg muscle damage and couldn’t walk properly for a few days. Once he threw a water jug at me, jug was broken hitting on the bed and wasn’t hit on my face for a luck. Most of these things happened the day after he had a drink (alcohol). He has done things I get hurt, purposely sometimes knowing I will get hurt {clubbing with other women, ignorance in social media, ignore me when we are out with friends giving more attention to other women…etc. (Picture 18, Messages 02)} and when I tell him what he’s doing is wrong and I’m hurt, he gets angry and shouting at me. Never talk peacefully in a calm manner. He has this anger issue which he can’t control himself even. He’s shivering, shouting and hit himself too, not only me. Sometimes he comes home, asking me to get into the car to saying we are going to the super market, then he’s starting a fighting shouting inside the car. I asked why he is taking me away like that, he said if neighbours hear he’s shouting and I’m crying, it will be a trouble. One day he hit the windscreen by hand when he’s angry and it’s got cracked. (Document 07). Somedays he’s asking me to get down from the car after taking me away from home. Another morning in month of May 2016, when I took his mobile to stop the alarm, I saw some loving messages from another woman, called Hannah Gonza.
You are walking out of the new Star Wars movie, posting about how superb it was, when suddenly you are swooped up and thrown in the back of a vehicle. No one would have thought posting about how you were there earlier would provoke such a situation. After all, social networking is “safe” and “friendly.” Now, social media is defined as “A form of electric communication through which users create online communities to share information,” according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary. Social networking began in 2004 and has sky-rocketed since, due to its sense of world connectivity in a mere moment. However, with this increase, a growth in seemingly harmless threats has occurred. Users sitting behind a screen are usually unaware of how complex and diminishing social networking can be. Social media may be considered negative for society as it changes what members view as behaviorally normal, increases the risk of cyber-suicide, and reduces the amount of privacy in one’s life.

Social Media such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube are web-based activities that provide individuals access to build a public or a semi-public profile within a confined system, connect and find users that they share a connection with as well as view and navigate the list of connections that are made by other participants of the systems (Boyd & Ellison, 2007). Social media is widely used by young adults contributing to about 84% of the total usage (Smith, 2011). Some of the popular reasons for widespread use of social media are staying in touch with near and dear ones especially with friends and family, making new friends, following famous politicians and celebrities and also in search of potential relationships (Smith, 2011). However as the use of social media becomes more widespread, we cannot help but express concerns over the effects that social media usage may have on our behavior. Over the past couple of decades, research has strongly linked social media usage with negative behavioral outcomes and is known to affect one’s overall well-being. This essay will begin by discussing some of the behavioral issues that result from social media usage, followed by criticisms of this argument. The recommendation will then highlight some ways by which the behavioural problems could be dealt with, acknowledging that self-monitoring and self-regulation are the main ways to tackle the issue.
The more technology advances the more we seem to find different ways to communicate world wide. Daily there are many different types of apps and websites being created to share ideas, photos or feelings. It has changed the lives of many people positively and negatively. Ever since social media grew so did bullying. However there are many places bullying can happen, like in school, outside of school, work, or home. There are two different types of bullying, verbal and physical. It can have a small or big impact, depending on the person. Many people will say that the main causes of bullying today is social media because it allows people to communicate with others not having to be face to face and anonymously making it easier to bully others. “What is your biggest fear?” is one of the most sought after questions in which many individuals reply with a generic answer, such as heights, clowns, spiders, snakes, or the boogie monster. However, what if I told you that social media is causing widespread fear across the nation to its millions of users. Yes, that is correct… Facebook, Instagram, virtual game worlds, blogs, and collaborative projects are causing fear. This is referred to as FOMO, or the fear of missing out, causing unnecessary depression, anxiety, and unhappiness to those who participate in social media. Although social media was initially created to connect us to other individuals, it has also caused us to be more disconnected in numerous ways. Today, many adolescents are more concerned with creating an ideal image of themselves online, than how they exploit themselves in the ‘real world’. They are also feeling more obligated to be on their social networking sites as they fear that others will be having more rewarding experiences, that they may be missing out on a get-together with friends, and feel its important to be posting 24/7 about the things they are doing so others are aware of their personal experiences or adventures. Social media is causing a rift between relationships, consuming our overall well-being in a negative way, and is promoting our generation to create an ideal perfect image, one that is impossible to obtain for any human being. In this essay, I will delve into my own experiences with
High school is a mosh pit of youths, no longer teenagers, but not yet adults. When hundreds or thousands of them are grouped together under one roof, a breeding ground for both insecurity and narcissism is forged. Forced into a pressure cooker of judgement, harassment, and competition, they seek approval from various sources. Some look to trusted advisers, focusing on academics, sports, and extracurriculars. Others look to their peers, potentially falling into a vicious cycle of drugs, alcohol, partying, and other unhealthy behaviors. Left alone to identify themselves, teens rely on the confirmation of their environment. Whether they live in a small town or an urban city, social media has established a worldwide public platform for the scrutinization of this generation of emerging adults. While healthy sources of validification exist, the effects of unhealthy, attention-seeking actions are more damaging and longer lasting.
