This was not the first time I took English 1301. The first time I took this class, I had to withdraw from it. I was missing too many days, because I would wake up late. I was not doing my homework. I had problems with the teacher. At the midpoint of the semester I knew there were no changes to pass the class. I had to withdraw and take the W. This semester things are different. I decided to take evening classes. I was lucky to choose a wonderful teacher. The most important thing was that I did my work. My success was due to the fact that I changed my bad habits. One of the most important decisions I took this semester was to take evening classes. Thanks to the fact that I had a change of schedule at work; it allowed me to take evening classes.
Before starting English 1102 I was so excited because I knew who class I wanted to take; but, his class was full. I was a very sad cookie. Then my friend Josh told me her knew a professor that was better than the one I wanted and that I would love her class. I’m glad I trusted Josh and took this class. In my English 1102 class I evolved as a writer, experienced a lot of new things, made a few mistakes, and learned from them.
This class taught me that I should avoid taking eight-thirty classes if at all possible. I struggled with missing classes due to oversleeping and struggled with staying awake during the classes when I was present. This was due to my poor management of time, balancing ROTC’s morning PT, getting to class, and homework at night. This has taught me that I need to complete work earlier. This class also taught me some more history
One of the challenges high school seniors face is to choose whether to further their education or not. Many students choose to go on to college to get degrees or certificates, but many do not. College certainly is not for everyone. College is important though for people who want to obtain jobs that require getting a degree. I am a person who wants to get a career that requires a quality college education. I will experience many challenges and obstacles throughout my college education. I know taking a Composition and Rhetoric class will be one of these challenges. I am taking English 1101 because I have to in order to get my degree, because I want to get ahead, and because I expect to develop better writing and communication skills.
My final thoughts towards English 1301 would probably be described in one word which would be awesome; from what I learned in class will help me out towards my path to the future I understand that I still have some errors as I write essays or journals; but I will like to believe that I will get better as I stay in English and I work more on my dents that I have.
A successful English 1301 student is not just one who has passing grades, but one who does all their task wisely. When i first started English comp 1301 i thought i was going to breeze through it without a problem, but i was wrong. The class proved to be a challenge that required a great deal from me. It required time-management, determination, flexibility, focus, priorities, communication and engagement. Although I did great at demonstrating some of the traits, there were some that i did not excel at, and for that I paid the price.
Starting this year, I thought English 102 was just going to be another general education requirement I needed to have in order to graduate. English has never been my favorite subject, so I guess it is safe to say that I was not super excited about this class. However, this class turned out to be different then I thought. It turned out to be more useful then I originally thought. English 102 was both helpful and fairly simple because of what what I learned, the effort I put in and how prepared I was.
I learned many lessons in my English 1301 class, but there are three specific ones I liked the most, writing a research paper, using transition words in an essay, and to attend to class. Most of these lessons are a daily basis and I used them or do them in different subjects without noticing it. The daily work in this class helped me improve these three lessons. It also helped me overtake some of the works I had in other subjects.
Over the course of time, I have learned that learning is essential if you want to be successful. Whether it is about life skills or school, learning is a habit that everyone uses in a way to become successful. One of my main goals is to obtain the most out of college so that I can input what I learn in school in the outside world. Meaning that I want to learn as much as I possibly can in any course, especially in this course. I expected this course to be a review of my English class during my senior year of high school, but I extended on what I had previously learned about English. As this semester of ENG 111 ends, I can say that I have improved skills that involve grammar, structuring a paragraph with supporting details, and opening my
English 111 was the first class English class that I have taken since my senior year of high school in 2004. When I first signed up for the class I figured it was going to be a bit difficult with reading assignments, I was not expecting to be writing 3 to 5 papers every other week which I found to be hard at first.
During the first semester of English 1301, I have learned so much that before I hadn’t comprehended. This class has teached me to write what is my passion and explain my thoughts thoroughly. The classes I took before were mostly teaching the arts of writing essays in which the not much was learned. This class made an exception for me to challenge myself and try to succeed in becoming a better writer. I feel as I have learned more in these 16 weeks than have in the last two years of highschool english.
In the beginning, I felt as this English course was just another typical course with the purpose of allowing students to write more essays without the use of creativity and acuity. However, as I ventured deep into the course, I found my original opinion to be biased. Throughout my spiritual journey in ENGL 1304, I not only learned many concepts and new ideas along the way, but I was also able to connect with all my readings. From researching my online sources to constructing a coherent argument, I grasp the process of communicating my voice for each assignment through careful observation and visualization. As a result, I was able to write my essays in a more personal manner. It also led me to stray away from the concept of “just writing anything
Overall, I enjoyed English 331 this semester. This class has helped me become a better writer and speaker. I have improved on my writing techniques, as well as word choice and grammar.
Despite the review I got on any of these assignments I have taken away a ton from each piece. English 103 has given me a short measure of time to deliver a wide range of composing pieces, and in addition winding up more educated while creating bits of work. Going into English 103 I was to a great degree positive about my written work capacity and did not understand the huge measure of terms and methods I had never known about. The greatest perspective I am detracting from this class is on terms I had never utilized or heard in English class: ethos, feeling, and logos. These three associated terms were acquainted with me at the earliest reference point of the semester and were immediately installed into my brain and my composition. In class
To start, I chose this class because I knew that eventually I would need to complete it. What better time to do it, than right now? I had recently completed a math course this past semester, so I did not want to take another stressful class that I find to not be my strongest subject right after. My brother and some friends have mentioned that this course isn’t as bad as it is said to be. That is what pushed me to sign up and attempt to complete this course. Being a part time student and working full time is a lot to balance on ones plate. I have learned that from experience. I formally was a full time student and worked part time, but the roles tend to reverse once you find yourself struggling to pay bills. Seeing that this class isn’t as costly as a math course, and isn’t as time restraining either. This course will give me more time at work and more time to study. This sums up the reasons I chose to complete English 102.
When I first started the class I was struggling a lot. Since English is my second language, I had many stressful moments that made me think about dropping my classes. But when I thought about my future, I just kept studying even harder, waiting for my performance to improve. As a result, I felt like every time I wrote an essay, it got easier, which tells me that I’m on the right path. In addition, this class has helped me improve my grammar, taught me an important life lesson about sticking on my goal and helped me to enhance my computer skills
