Lynx are not great runners, but have a rather clumsy gallop, lynx often ambush prey from ledges and trees. When stalking prey, they move within pouncing distance before striking. Lynx don't mind to wait until their prey is out in the open. In other words the lynx stakes his/her prey. In a fight against another predator, both teeth and claws become weapons. Lynx are mainly solitary except during the breeding season. They tend to be secretive animals and are rarely seen in the wild. The lynx has a variety of vocalizations to communicate. They are like those made by house cats just louder. Lynx have phenomenal endurance for cold.
