The organization for which I am employed is named St. David 's North Austin Medical Center, in Austin, Texas. I work in the smaller branch of the hospital dedicated to women 's services and a separate name has been given to this area of the hospital, St. David 's Women 's Center of Texas. The Women 's Center branch of the hospital contains Antepartum, Labor and Delivery, Nursery, Postpartum, and Neonatal Intensive Care Units. There are many specialty services offered at this location that involve fertility treatments, Level III NICU (North and Main locations only), and DaVinci Robotic Gynecological services. To gain a better understanding of the organization one works for, a look at these details is necessary. St. David 's North Austin Medical Center (of which the Women 's Center of Texas is a part of) lists its Mission Statement on the website for the hospital, www.stdavids.com, to be: "To provide exceptional care to every patient every day with a spirit of warmth, friendliness, and personal pride." The Mission statement is taught to employees during orientation and printed on everyone 's identification badges to make staff familiar with the goal. We have also been told that when administration rounds in the units, they may ask you what the Mission Statement is as a way to get people invested in memorizing it, or at least familiar with it.
