The new register has many issues associated to it. The touch screen is getting excessively dirty due to the Cook touching some greasy food and then moving and touching the touchscreen itself. There is also the added problem of the manager constantly having to unlock and reset users and if the manager needs to go in the back and perform paperwork they would be interrupted other duties and this can cause a major Workforce delay. Not to mention the customers could be getting aggravated with every time they come to the restaurant they need to wait for the system to be unlocked rebooted or for the cashier to have their user reset. However the worst situation out of this is with the users sharing their username and password or signing in as the …show more content…
When the register locked, only the cashier who was logged in prior to it locking could unlock it without a system restart.
• Amount of time managers were spending unlocking the registers.
• Cashiers forgetting their user Id and password, other cashiers would log in for them.
• Inadequate button layout, cashiers would key in the incorrect password.
• Cashiers would leave for break or shift and forget to log out of the locked register.
• The managers would have to reboot the system, a three to five (3-5) minute.
• It was noticed that grease was building up on the touch screens, making them less responsive.
Some of the ways to correct the issues can be a simple change however there are a few that require a new and complete overhaul. The layout of the keys are not user-friendly as well as the security systems that is attached to the system is a little more secure than what the cashier needs. Having the register automatically lock after 3 minutes of inactivity and having the user is not being able to remember their username and password is some of the design false. User ID is understandable however if there was a way that the cashier could have a card and that card swipe would allow them to automatically log in. This would be a 1 Factor authentication but if they pan came up then it could be a two-factor authentication and make the system more secure than with a
First, there are many positive impacts that it has. An example of this is how it prevents employees from pilfering money from the manager. There is also some people that despise the cash register, and those people are the employees that were taking the money before. Finally, the evolvement of the cash register from Ritty’s model to the electronic model, was very important to each society that it evolved through. All in all, without the cash register, small businesses will crumble from loss of profit, and the economy would go into a downfall without the invention of the cash
Not having a self check-out cashiers , and not having healthy section , would be threats which can lose customers and they’ll look for substitute
The cabin door will always be locked, which will open only when user swipes his/her ATM card in the slot & is validated as
The first recommendation, is that they need to change the direction flow of the café. They should switch the exit to the entrance, moving the cashier’s stations by the exit. There should be one express cashier only expecting cash and a regular cashier taking cards. The flow of the lines can be corrected by partitions, so this isn’t crowding at the stations, creating a consistency in wait time. Please see exhibit A for the updated café layout. The second recommendation, is that there is needs to be detail menu choices for the stations. They can order large boards and hang the above the stations describing the menu options, reducing the questions being asked about the food. The third recommendation would be to implement a pre-order station.
The cashiers log into the system with a password at the beginning of their shift. They have a unique ID, a hire date, and a password change date. In this project cashier information will be shown in certain management reports. The user entering the items into the checkout form will be both the customer and the cashier.
2. Train every staff member who handles the cash, how to use the register correctly.
Unfortunately, I have not worked at a facility yet but I will try my best to answer the prompt. Aside from treating employees as family to create good ethical standards and reflect that on the restaurant, not all models were well implemented. This fast restaurant I used to work at lacked in distribution of authority, the manager really did not take the employees into account for making decisions. My former manager expected us to listen to his decisions and abide by them, it would have been better if he heard what we had to say before he had the last word and I bet the restaurant would have done better in economy and team
I believe the followings are the factors that helped them to have such an effective line system. The store dedicated close to 32 cash registrars and 25 of them are for customers who shops fewer than five items during peak or lunch time and located close to the various food stands are displayed arranged in five rows . Seven of the cash counters are located on the
For instance, over a period of time the inter-arrival rates had a consistent trend overall but the service times for each customer did not follow the same consistency. The data collected showed transactions involving returns occupied more time, usually in the range of 1.5 to 2 minutes and sometimes more. Transactions that were less than 1.5 to 2 minutes were purchases-only. The environment of the checkout area was taken into consideration. The setup of products in the designated waiting area is a positive way to distract customers from actual waiting time. This arrangement also maximizes store profits as patrons are tempted to make impulse purchases. This was the immediate inherent explanation as to why only one check-out/returns line is used. Although there is a designated waiting area, if service times are slower than the arrival rate, the queue extends past the designated waiting line and blocks merchandise intended to be viewed by customers not in the queue. Blocking off merchandise and the visual image of a line extending past the designated area negatively impact the experience of a customer and the decision to wait in line. The loss of a customer is associated with a cost to Winners. Therefore, for every customer that leaves the system before they have been serviced represents a cost to store management in addition to operating and waiting costs. For this report, only the
The future of this cash register without more user and customer friendly components has a limited lifespan. Today’s merchants want an all-in-one register that reads cards, has bigger displays, and makes record keeping more
On September 22, 2015, DVR review of the register revealed that Jevon Johnson was closing the register. The electronic journal roll revealed that the register was even when it closed. The cash was taken after the register was closed and Jevon was observed separating the cash into two piles before putting the cash into the wallet. A review of Johnsons cash voids revealed that before closing at night on 4 separate occasions, Johnson would take a cash sale done earlier in the day and void it out just before she closed the register.

Now anytime you tamper with your registry files and find out the you chose are affecting your system 's performance simply follow these next
* Communication problems. Different managers give different demands and tasks to do. They don’t communicate with each other properly and it causes plenty of problems. When wait staff doesn’t understand what exactly to do it will affect the quality of the service.
A more major problem that everyone is guilty of at some point is not collecting a method of payment at check in. This is vital to obtain from all guests. If I do not collect a method of payment then I have to immediately put a stop charge on the room. This then disables a guest from making a purchase from anywhere inside the hotel. My process of resolving this issue is to make
