The traits of the leadership that Charley displays relate to many of the class and textbook lessons presented in this course. Immediately, Charley is can be recognized as a task oriented leader. He works in a labor heavy field where huge jobs are done, one task at a time. The skills and qualities of a task oriented leader are presented by his attention to detail and planning. He does research and has experience to break jobs down into parts and then using some delegative skills gets each individual to complete his or her task towards a main objective. Doing this requires very clear and direct communication. This means being conscientious of many details and being able to adapt to problems and manage personal or work related conflict or mistakes. At the Baca Grande POA, Charley knows that communication is very important. There have been many times where changes are taking place with rules and covenants at the POA and the community uninformed as to the details. This leads to the community wanting to ask questions and have the opportunity to speak their option. When the POA has their monthly meeting, they don’t allow time in the agenda for the property owners to ask questions. This use to be a big problem because concern property owners would come in and want to ask all sorts of questions to clarify what is really going. The meeting would get dragged out and the board members wouldn’t have time to get to all the topics on their agenda. This has all changed since Charley has
The next question posed to Rene inquired about essential characteristics of a leader. After giving the question some thought she responded by saying that a leader must be able to remain objective and prioritize. “Prioritizing in my job is essential,” Rene stated, “with so many issues to deal with some nights it can be difficult to determine which to tackle first. However, remaining calm and objective in your decision making can help a leader prioritize properly, which can improve patient outcomes.” Additionally, Rene emphasized that the best leaders lead by example. By displaying desired attitudes and behaviors, a nursing leader may inspire their staff to act in a similar manner. Another area Rene stressed when posed this question was a leader’s ability to support learning. She went on to state that “it is necessary to focus on learning, not chastising. Placing the blame on someone rather than stepping back and looking at the details of a problem, deters the team from achieving the overall goal. Incident reports remain vital to the process of learning.” Rene continued to emphasis that by filling out incident reports individuals can analyze a situation or process and determine where the flaws or errors remain present. Cunningham & Cordeiro (2009) stated that in the past, board members were white males with a college degree ranging in age from 40-50 years old. Today, there are more women and minorities seeking board positions, especially in urban areas. Well in Leflore County all of our board members is one individual, the conservator himself. The agenda was adopted and the meeting proceeded with the Mississippi Forestry Commissioner to discuss Recommendation for the 16th Section Lease Description of Section 16, Township 16 North, and Range 4 West. The board decided to advertise land for Agricultural and Hunting and Fishing Purposes.

Meetings are a common tool used by companies and organizations for a variety of purposes, and they can be implemented in a variety of ways. Properly implemented, meetings can be effective, productive, and increase involvement of the participants at the meetings. If not implemented properly, meetings can be costly as well as unproductive for both the leader and the participants. By examining recent meeting characteristics of Wheatridge Park Care Center and the Phi Theta Kappa organization at Seward County Community College, a better understanding of the positive and negative aspects of various meeting styles may be explored through applying and analyzing the events of the meeting against conflict management principles recommended in Raines (2013).
Leadership theories in and of themselves carry negative and positives characteristics. Within the various theories lie strengths and weaknesses that when applied to complex problems can highlight each one respectively. As I examine a few theories, I will look at the strengths and weaknesses of each and determine when and with which situation would these theories best be utilized. Collective leadership or distributive leadership, and leader-member exchange are both theories that incorporate specific team or group mentalities.
The United States Marine Corps has been one of the most powerful military branches in the world for more than twenty-three decades. The most important things that have kept this organization as prestigious and powerful as it is are the famous leadership traits, leadership principles, corps values and the leaders that uphold those traits. Without these structures, this leadership hierarchy this “gun club” would not have lasted this long. The next thousand or so words will help explain those traits, principles and corps values that we hold so high.
In the world today, there are leaders everywhere such as Parents, Pastors, The President, CEO of Companies, Supervisors and World leaders just to name a few, these individuals can be good or bad, for you or against you. A leader is a person that sees things through in order to make change either in the mental growing aspect of one’s life, the economics of the world, or spiritual belief. The characteristics of a good leader are the leaders’ ability to inspire others willingness to leader and integrity.
Before this class, I had a very primitive and vague definition of leadership. Not only did I define it as per my views and ideologies, but I also said that each individual has their own definition of leadership. My initial belief was that leadership does not have a clear cut definition, but there were well defined leadership traits which made an individual. I also initially believed that personal traits did not translate into leadership traits with no strong correlation. After going through the various modules this class offered, it is safe to say that I have significantly redefined leadership and underwent a strong personal assessment. This paper talks what I took back from each of the class activities, assignments and how my self-assessment compares to the perception of others.
The purpose of this paper is to reflect and make an analysis of the general strengths and weaknesses of a leader, provide recommendations, thoughts of overall performance to improve on this person’s leadership style in which practices and theories were utilized most effectively. Upon such, draw conclusions and provide an integration of this leadership practice into my own leadership practice. The accomplishment of this will be achieved by identifying several key practices from published documents surrounding and encompassing the leader, and comparing them to known relative concepts for a holistic view of the approach.

Furthermore, it is a charisma and the ability to reacting at the right time for a particular competitive situation” (L.Mullins, 2010, P372).
I believe you learn about leadership by acting as an example. You should be prepared to do the things you are asking others to do by getting on your hands and knees, if need be, and get your hands dirty. This engraves a picture into the mind of an employee or subordinate to what type of a manager you are. In this paper, I will cover the role a manager plays in an organization describing four functions of management: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. I will then describe three traits: conceptual, human, and technical, which an individual must possess to become a successful manager within an organization and how they fit in with the four functions.
