Review of Literature Barbera (2009) and Barrett (2007) state that authentic assessment involves student engagement in the evaluation process by using authentic evidences of learning processes and outcomes. Barbera (2009) and Sadler and Good, (2006) assert that self-assessment is particularly beneficial for students, since it not only keeps them involved, interested and highly motivated in the process, but also encourages self-reflection and responsibility.
