Nadia, Regarding the third point of discussion, I found interesting information differentiating women by their ability to have vaginal orgasms. It’s been suggested that it’s genetics that determines if vaginal orgasm is possible or not. Of the 25% - 32% of females that have vaginal orgasms during intercourse (depending on what statistics you read), they are also the group most likely to have one-night stands. Although there are differences between the two groups, the commonality is the majority of women in committed relationships are more willing to “ requesting the appropriate type of sexual stimulation” to achieve stimulation (Eschler, 2004). This information ties to the shyness you talked about and suggests women become less shy the
The first chapter opened my eyes to diverse topics about human sexuality in general. My generation has sex almost emotionlessly because of the hookup scene that surrounds us in society. But we have sex until one of the partners has an orgasm. “Our concept of sex has become so male-defined that the single orgasm has become the gold standard for women’s sexual response, and orgasm is often considered “optional” despite many women’s ability have multiple orgasms (Chalker 23).” This concept of sex seems to be
Reflection can be defined as “a process of reviewing an experience of practice in order to describe, analyse and evaluate and so inform learning from practice.”(Reid, 1993) It is an important factor when working within any health profession and midwifery is certainly no exception. Schon (1991) defines a reflective practitioner as “someone who learns by reflecting on current experience and applies that learning to future practice.” Reflection allows midwives to grow and develop professionally as well as personally (Kirkham, 1994) and can guide her into moulding her sphere practice in a positive way to benefit the women she is caring for (Church & Raynor, 2000). It also allows midwives to continue with lifelong learning and put theory to
The excerpt from Leslie Bell’s “Hard to Get: Twenty-Something Women and the Paradox of Sexual Freedom” explains the reality of how the expectation of sexual exploration for women in their twenties plays a reverse role on their behaviors and actually limits them. Bell thus groups female attitudes and behaviors in regards to their interaction with sexuality and relationships. She categorizes women into one of three: the sexual woman, the relational woman, and the desiring woman. Although this could result in a possible loss of individualism by grouping women and their experiences into three groups, and Bell acknowledges this, but insists that it provides an opportunity to study how women can share the same behaviors in a sexually confusing era.
A. In Proslogion, the ontological argument made by Anselm can be summarized in the following way: 1. God is the greatest thing to be conceptualized/thought. a. “Lord… You are something than which nothing greater can be thought.” 2.
The author was trying to show the difference in how women react to different sexual responses and what can cause lack of sexual desires. It did figure out that women show lower and less frequent sexual motivation than men. Normally, single women almost never complain about being interested in sex, while women in relationships express more complaints based on the different sexual needs between the two partners. Low or no sexual desire is more likely to be the most common sexual problem in women. The study was conducted using sexual response models, which includes; linear model- which experienced sexual desires will happen in a sudden and unplanned way, and it is independent of the sexual arousal response, and Information process model- biological as well as mental factors can interfere with the activation of sexual systems. A large European study shown that women with low sexual desires were less satisfied about their current relationship.

In her article, Jane Gerhard, depicts the patterns, discussions, and debates among specialists, clinicians, and women's activists in twentieth century, surrounding women’s orgasms. The main 'Myth of the Vaginal Orgasm' was a 1968 oeuvre composed by Anne Koedt. It contended against the regular affirmation that woman got delight solely through intercourse, and investigated woman' sexuality. She talks about the convictions about the orgasm that existed in the primary portion of the twentieth century. As of now, a "partner marriage" where a hetero couple would love and look after each other, and have intercourse, was viewed as the correct and "ordinary" thing to do. It was settled upon, amongst clinicians and sexologists, that intercourse was

A few things became apparent. First there were some behaviors that were sexual but were not intimate. For example, some girls would want a dance partner and would drag whatever guy friend was willing to go along. However, there were also some sexual behaviors that were intimate. For instance, both partner seemed interested and showed this by aggressive sexual dancing, flirtation, or kissing. There were also many people that expressed themselves sexually, but did not get a response from the opposite sex. For example, there was bar top dancing for one song at one of the bars I visited. There were obviously some girls that did this for male attention, but did not receive the desired results. Instead, these girls ended up hanging with other female or male friends. I saw some rejection but for the most part people that found each other attracted and acted upon those feelings were given a similar response. Going to multiple places to observe sexual behavior showed a couple differences that seemed
This article has been written by Amy L. Gilliland and was published online in the Springer Science media on March 2009. It is a fascinating article that discusses the phenomenon of female ejaculation. The women in this study explicate their ejaculation fluids and just how this shakes their sexual identities. It is not known the origins of their sexual fluids. Each woman had a different level of stimulation to ejaculate, and it was found to happen individually from orgasm for some womenfolk. The author believed that this was a phenomenon that needed to be researched in more depth; hence, this study supports the fact that female ejaculation is a common experience for many women, and offers different areas for further investigation. The author did not specify the social theory that has being investigated or emerged.
The role of the orgasm in heterosexual relationships is significant in having a satisfying malefemale relationship according to society’s expectations. By using the malefemale binary, as well as exploring the social construction of sex, we can see just how significant the role the orgasm plays in heterosexual relationships. First off, we must understand that orgasms are achieved differently for both males and females.
I do believe in the myths of this articles because they are true. I have always been thought that a relationship becomes strong with communication. Communication is the most primordial way of creating comfort with your partner especially when talking about sex. It is better to talk about sex with your partner before having sex that way both know what they like or dislike or if they just don’t feel comfortable yet with having sex. I do feel that others do believe in these myths but they just ignore them because most of the times all they want is to have sex. They don’t care about communicating with the other person all they want is to have sex and the pleasure. This is wrong because sex is not just about having sex it’s also about intimacy with
I was always awkward sexually, I don’t mean awkward in the sense of performing coitus but rather everything else. During sex I rather enjoy myself as any young man would, but before the act and after It where the awkwardness kicks In, Is where I find myself loathing the world and the person I am about to, or have recently just fucked. Usually young men enjoy the chase and thrill of courting. My best friend prefers this to sex itself, he believes that “It is a canvas in which only the best artists are capable of painting on”. In some ways Intend to agree with him and then reality kicks in and I remember that people are disgusting creatures, before, during (especially during) and after sex.
future career, that is to be an obstetrician, also known as an OB/GYN. Some of the topics that will be discussed in my paper are those pertaining to exactly what an obstetrician is and the requirements that are needed in order to become an obstetrition. These requirements will include the pyhsical and phsyschological personality traits of a potential obstetrician. The type of schooling that is nessecary, including the preperation that is available at Middlesex County College, and the average number of years that it takes in order to become an obstetrician. The demand for obstetricians will also be researched, along with the different promotional ranks that
Before this class I thought about the topics we covered in a broad sense and probably not very often. After taking this class I was forced to look deeper into each topic, and while I disagree with some things, I am glad I will be able to hold a conversation about why I disagree. I am born and raised Catholic so I know what view I am supposed to have on each topic, but I’d catch myself feeling guilty because my views were more often than not slightly different than the Church’s teachings. I needed to remind myself that it is okay I have a different opinion, as long as I accept the Church’s opinion as well. Of the topics we talked about, I found cohabitation as the most important/interesting and I found contraception as the most controversial. In this paper I will focus on contraception in premarital sex which can also be happening in cohabiting relationships, so it in a way all connects.
