Values Paragraphes Have you ever looked closely at the lyrics from a song you like and found out that it supports your own personal values? From filling out a values sheet in class I found that my three big values are family, individuality, and success. After I looked into my three values I looked at the lyrics in one of my favorite songs which is “Young, dumb, and broke” by Khalid. And guess what I found. I found that the lyrics to the song directly correspond to my personal values. First of all I looked into my first and most important value which is family. My family members are the people that I can trust with anything. They keep me safe clothed and fed. I am very thankful for them and I truly believe that at this point in my life I could not live without them. For example, when I was struggling in school last year they were hard on me and I didnt appreciate it at first, but it ended up being the best thing for me and my grades.
The value of family is shown in my song in the line “ we’re just young, dumb, and broke but we still got love to give”. I think this is a good example because even though I may do some bad things or dumb things, I am young and have plenty of time to make up for it, and of course I will always love my parents and they will always love me no matter what.
Secondly I value individuality, because as I get older it gets more and more relevant to real life. Also I just think that not being owned by your parents and having them tell you what to do and when to do it all the time is a good thing. I also think that I feel this way because of my age, I am soon going to be able to drive and do many more adult like things and I like to make my own decisions.
An example of valuing individuality in the song, I chose a line that says “we argue all the time” which in the song is referring to a girlfriend but I am going to talk about it referring to me and my mom arguing all the time instead. Me and my mom have an argument, literally every day, and it does not matter what we argue about, there is always something, but lots of times the arguments are about individuality. For example, the other day I asked if I could go to my friends house and she said no. I asked why and she said the famous line
