In dealing with Hypothetical Syllogism all must be true. They will always contain two premises and a conclusion. It will state if one thing will happens, another one will following. Therefore the third one is expected as well. The premises as well the conclusion have to be all in a logical form to be true. For example: This is a valid argument, and can be affirmed. Apparently, Vickie is married; she is wearing a ring. Therefore she is married. S: Vickie M: is wearing a ring P: is married C: Therefore, Vickie is married. It has always been one my dreams to be married, have a diamond ring, and have children. Knowing marriage is the mixture of two people who have a common accepting of how they feel about each other. I have tried to learn steps to enrich my marriage and to be the best wife and mother I can. For thirty three years, I have been married. So using what I have learned about hypothetical syllogism. I can use the; if then I can accept Vickie is married; she is wearing a ring. Therefore, she is married. A goal of significant to me is staying in a rich, healthy marriage until death do us part. If then, this being my goal, I should do whatever it takes to stay in a strong marriage. To reinforce my goal many could buy this fabulous book, The Five Love Languages: I have practiced all of the five love languages: Word of affirmation, Acts of service, Receiving of Gifts, Quality time, and Physical touch. (Chapman Gary, 2010). These five love languages have helped me
-Some may disagree with me because banning larger drinks will just make people buy more smaller sized drinks allowing them to take in more sugar and calories.
#5. What are five love languages discussed during lecture? List all five, give examples of each, and discuss the meaning
A fallacy is defined as a kind of error in reasoning. They can be persuasive and be created both unintentionally and intentionally in order to deceive others from the truth. Fallacies often indicate a false belief or cause of a false belief (dowden, 2006). An argument or situation commits a fallacy when the reasons offered do not support the conclusion. This defeats the purpose of the argument since its point is to give reason to support the conclusion. Fallacies affect the outcome of our everyday decision making process. There are three types of logical fallacies discussed in this paper along with the importance of utilizing critical thinking skills.
1. For my television commercial I used the popular Sham wow infomercial. According to the site the Sham Wow is “a washcloth, which will dry, and polish any surface. They are like a towel, chamois, and sponge all in one--except they're extremely absorbent and can be used over and over.” However, a segment on ABC’s Good Morning America gives Sham Wow a “C” and says it’s a normal towel so why have so many Americans fallen for the gimmick?
They say that French is the most romantic language of all, but after reading Gary Chapman’s bestselling book, The 5 Love Languages, I would have to disagree. This international bestseller written by the director of Marriage and Family Life Consultants, Inc. has revived the love in millions of marriages around the world by uncovering the five specific languages that successful couples use to communicate their love for one another. These couples share a priceless love due to their understanding of the language that the other uses daily to show their affection for one another. These love languages include words of affirmation, quality time, receiving gifts, acts of service, and physical touch. In the book, Chapman
Into the Wild written by Jon Krakauer illustrates the life and death of Christopher McCandless, and his search for the true meaning in life. McCandless’ family was well-off and he graduated from Emory University with honors. Everything in McCandless’ life came easy, and because of this he wished to find what it meant to work for something. Through his perilous journey across the United States, McCandless found a way to inspire others everywhere he went. His independent and carefree mindset inspired other adventure seekers. Because McCandless desired to push the status-quo, he trades material wealth in order to find the richness in life.
What kind of tribe is the Eneon? We do not have much information about this tribe as the anthropologists had just found out their existence. We only have limited information we received from the anthropologists. The information are based on the environment and climate they live in, the food they eat, their family and children, books and arts and their social aspect and attitudes toward war that the Eneon tribe are live in.
Referring to the purification aspect, Equiano mentioned the idea of decency in the African tradition. Therefore, “the constant washings and purification were the order of the day.” However, regardless of their constant practices of being extremely clean and pure, Africans and African-Americans have always been portrayed as the dirty and the infected race. Such an action is seen as a concept produced by dominating powers in order to accelerate the “Cultural Genocide” and identity diminishing. Equally effective, by spreading around and emphasizing the aspect of Yoruba traditions as not being considered a positive impact “cult”, the ATRs are viewed as suspicious practices that require certain bloody sacrifices and extreme rituals. Most of the
Comment: To avoid any more drastic cuts and burning through the cash reserves, we will need to bring in a higher sales tax immediately. The difficulty of placing a higher sale tax is getting Legislature to approve this. My colleagues and I have been consistent with attending conferences in Sacramento and Washington D.C. seeking for advocates to help with funding VTA. VTA faces a projected $6 billion deficit over the next two decades if we don’t get an approval for high sales tax. If this doesn’t work out, we will continue to cut more services in order to keep VTA doors open.
Consequentialism and non-consequentialism are both action based ethical frameworks that people can use to make ethical judgments. Consequentialism is based on examining the consequences of one’s actions as opposed to non-consequentialism which is focused on whether the act is right or wrong regardless of the outcome (Burgh, Field & Freakley, 2006). The three sub-categories of consequentialism are altruism, utilitarianism and egoism.
The five love languages are not something that is new to me. I have taken the test many times and read the book. I find the concept to be fascinating and so easy to understand. Often times I have friends, and family take the quiz as well. I believe that through this quiz there is a deepened insight into ourselves along with those around us. When it comes to the primary love languages, we are able to identify what we need more of along with what it is we are lacking in our personal relationships. Personally, my scores reveal, touch as my primary with a score of 9, then quality time – 8, acts of service – 5, gifts – 4, and finally, words of affirmation – 4.
Marriage has different meanings to different people. As I embarked on this research I was excited to hear the stories of the ones who made it for so long. As a matter of disclosure prior
But this premise is the very idea most in need of proof. It is especially controversial because__________________.
I would love to find my perfect spouse, get married and begin a life together. I do plan on being financially stable. I’ve always dreamt of the type of parent I would be. I know from my relationship with my mom that I don’t want to be that overly strict parent like my mom was. It made me rebel and want to misbehave because I got tired of being smothered. Yes, my children will have rules but once they hit a certain age I will allow them to adventure more, only because once I got to a certain age I wanted to adventure more but my mom wouldn’t let me and I did it anyways. I will be that parent that will let their kid go wherever as long as I know where they are and they keep me updated on what they were doing and let me know they were safe. I will be that parent that will tell their kid to just call when they are in a bad situation and I will come get them because I would rather them be
My goal in life is to be a great friend and wife to my fiancé. An exceptional and admirable mother that teaches her children not just right and wrong, but how to be healthy, happy, successful, responsible adults who can do the same for their families. I don’t want to lose sight of who I am and the person I am meant to be in the process. All the while, enjoying every bit of life and making every moment count.
