What Will I Wear Today?

As I woke up this morning the first thing that came to my mind was “what will I wear today?” I climbed out of bed and examined my wardrobe carefully, looking for that right outfit. Not only are my clothes going to keep myself warm from the cold winter air, but my clothing is also going to tell a story of who I am as a person. Clothing plays a valuable role in our everyday lives whether we realize it or not. As individuals we are viewed in countless ways, but society tends to judge based solely on first impressions. When meeting somebody different the first detail that is typically noticed about that person is the clothing they are wearing. Therefore, a person’s attire can say a great deal about them such as their professionalism, maturity level, and their overall character.
A person’s clothes can certainly spring off indications of their professionalism. When walking into a doctor’s office the first person to greet us is the receptionist. In the public’s eye a receptionist should be dressed in attractive, dressy clothes; if I walk into a doctor’s office and the receptionist is dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, I’ll begin to question whether she takes her job serious or not. In hospitals, doctors and nurses should be dressed in scrubs since it’s their professional uniform. Scrubs allow doctors and nurses to be able to treat patients and be able to dispose of their clothing if needed due to contamination. Besides nurses and doctors, lawyers also have an image to uphold.
