Having said that, the risk of trying it is spending time in something that might be unproductive. There are some cases where this solution might not be suitable for your company. Some of them are discussed below. • STRONG SECURITY POLICIES. The data from Yammer is stored in the cloud, and managed by Microsoft. If security is a huge concern for the company, this solution might not be suitable for you. Even if the workforce can be trained to avoid disclosing sensitive or confidential information on it, apparently innocuous comments can provide insights about how the company internally works. In that case, an alternative that can be installed locally should be considered, like IBM Connections. • INTEGRATION. Yammer has a Single-Sign On feature that allows users to work in Office 365 from it. But, what if the company is not using Office 365? Would a company achieve a similar level of integration if they are not using Microsoft’s products? Case Study: Facebook At Work Introduction At the beginning of 2015, Facebook announced that they are working in a tool called “Facebook At Work” which some of their business partners will test before the final product is officially released. Facebook at Work is an enterprise social networking tool that enables the workforce to create an account which is separate from the common Facebook one. Via this account, they can communicate with their co-workers in a private environment; everything they share will be only visible to employees of the company.
