UT Southwestern Medical School was formed in 1943 in the Southwestern Medical District of Dallas, Texas. It started off as a small wartime medical college and since then has grown exponentially. It now provides care to almost 90,000 patients and oversees 2 million outpatient visits and is affiliated with four hospitals: Parkland Memorial Hospital, Children's Medical Center, Zale Lipshy University Hospital, and St. Paul University Hospital.

At OIT they change tuition based on, Resident, WUE, and NON-Resident. It is actually cost more to be a NON-Resident, then it is to be in the WUE program. The chart below

The University says 80% of undergraduate students receive some form of financial assistance whether it be scholarships, student loans, or grants (Your place, 2017). Lastly, NWMSU is a very unique college in that they have all the textbooks you will need at the college. This is called the Textbook Rental Program and it saves students up to $7300 in the four years they are at the University according to Your Place to connect, (2015). NWMSU also offers free Wi-Fi, free cable, and free laundry for all students to be able to do homework and not have to worry about saving quarters to wash their clothes according to Your Place to connect (2015).

I am confident that the University of Connecticut School of Medicine is a respectable medical school that can prepare me for my future professional career in medicine by providing exceptional opportunities for my medical education. My interest in this instution lies on its commitment for innovative medical education aiming to prepare its students for their medical career. Therefore, the medical curriculum of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, M delta, caught my eye when I was exploring medical schools to apply since it was unique and I was certain that it was an interesting way to learn medicine.

I am interested in the Summer Intensive Health Scholar Program because I want to get expose to the hospital’s environment while helping patients. I want to be able to see how to learn and cope with patients with different background and culture than my own. I know that different patients deal with their daily life problems differently, especially at the hospital. This is because the patients’ live can be at the most difficult time period since they are dealing with their illnesses and are trying to recover from them. I want to learn from the patients and use the knowledge and experience that I am going to learn to help preparing for my future career in the healthcare field. If the school is too expensive to attend, financial aid and scholarships are offered. Financial aid must be applied for before December 15th, and it is given to first come first serve. Applicants are often also considered for scholarships such as Presidential scholarships, the Benacquisto Scholarship, Lombardi and Stamp scholarships, and the Southern scholarship for Florida residents which all offer money to academically committed students. There are also out-of-state scholarships offered to help reduce the price for students that don’t already reside in Florida. Money offered can be as much as $20,000 per year.

University of Minnesota is next, with tuition for out-of-state students at $23,806 and $14,142 for in-state students. University of Minnesota is also known for their school of dentistry. University of Wisconsin-Madison cost $10,446 for in-state, and $32,738 for out-of state. Along with college of veterinary medicine, UWM offers a school of medicine and public health. In Illinois, the University of Illinois tuition is $31,046 for in-state and $46,668 for out-of-state students. University of Illinois is also known for its school of medicine. Michigan State University is another college that offers a school of veterinary medicine. Tuition for out-of-state is $37,890 and $14,063 for in-state students. Also, MSU is home to a school of medicine. Ohio State University tuition cost is $10,307 for in-state, and $29,229 for out-of-state. OSU is also home to a school of music.     For out of state students, which is where I would fall under, the yearly tuition for UW is $34,791 and the overall cost for a year is $49,986. Although this is much more expensive than the in state tuition cost, the overall out of state cost to attend UW is not as expensive as out of state costs for other schools or private schools. The cost for housing and food, which is the equivalent of room and board, is an estimated $11,691 for students who live on campus and $14,625 for those who live off campus. Mayo offers a curriculum unparalleled to other schools primarily due to the several factors of the medical field combined into one single curriculum. The partnership between ASU and Mayo would help me be well-rounded in both the clinical and administrative aspects of medicine. Thus, allowing me to easily navigate through the healthcare system and focus on what is best for the patient. Focusing on giving quality care that is both attainable and affordable to all.  Being responsible for my learning experience through selectives will enrich my medical education with experiences that are not directly covered in the curriculum. The curriculum also pushes me to continue my passion for service, by encouraging community service that coincides with the school’s clinical education.

According to BYU’s website regarding the MSW program, it states that “our program takes 20 months of full-time study to complete. You will pay tuition five times.” With a tuition of $3,250 a semester for graduate students at BYU, I will need to pay a total of $16,250 of tuition. While the price for books and school supplies is not explicitly stated, I am estimating that it will be an additional $300 per semester, or $1,500 for the five semesters. In order to practice medicine in Russia, a medical graduate is required to take either one of the postgraduate training courses, namely internship for 1-year or residency for 2-3 years.
