Question

Design an algorithm using pseudocode that inputs three numbers. The algorithm must determine and then display the middle value – that is the number which is neither the smallest nor the largest. Check to see that your algorithm works for numbers where one or more of the values is repeated. Be certain your algorithm works for negative values. Determine if it is possible to extend the algorithm to finding the middle value of five numbers. Try to build an algorithm that does not just exhaustively test for all possibilities. That is the “brute force” algorithm and better solutions can be created.
