Expert Answer

Step 1

The chemical compounds that contain carbon and hydrogen as the main constituent are termed as the organic molecules. Generally, in such molecules, carbon and hydrogen atoms get linked to form long chains of the carbon backbone. Catenation property of carbon allows it form long-chain macromolecules with side chains and these molecules are required for the existence of living beings.

Step 2

Four types of organic molecules found in the human body are as follows:

  1. Proteins – These are the biomolecules that are formed by the bonding of various amino acids to each other via peptide bonds. Proteins perform various functions in the body, such as acting as hormones, enzymes, coordinating biochemical functions, and help in repairing body tissues.
  2. Nucleic acids - Nucleic acids such as DNA and RNA contain genetic information and information about protein synthesis. Both nucleic acids are macromolecules and are composed of various nucleotide molecules. A nucleotide is formed of a nitrogenous base, a phosphate group, and a five-carbon sugar. Nucleotides that take part in the formation of DNA and RNA are thymine, cytosine, guanine, adenine, and uracil.
  3. C...
