The hypothesis which was formulated by Alexander Fleming from his observations he made.
Given:
Several years before Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin, he made another exciting discovery. Fleming had a bad cold but kept working in his lab. He decided to put some of his nasal mucus in a petri dish of bacteria to see what would happen. Fleming observed that, over time, the mucus-covered area of the petri dish became clear of bacteria.
Introduction:
The human body has a well-developed immune system to resists against a wide variety of pathogens. The immune system is of two categories that include the innate immunity and the adaptive (acquired) immunity. The innate immunity consists of four different types of barriers. Secretions of antibacterial and antiviral proteins are classified in the group of physiological barriers.
