Chapter 10, Problem 11RQ
Summary Introduction

Introduction:

The muscle cells require energy for the process of contraction and relaxation. The muscle contraction is accompanied when a nerve impulse is received from the brain. Each muscle fiber contains neuromuscular junction where synaptic terminal is located. The signal to muscle fiber is passed from neuronal synapse through the neurotransmitter acetylcholine which is a chemical messenger.

Students have asked these similar questions
If the blood flow to a skeletal muscle were markedly decreased, which types of motor units would most rapidly undergo a severe reduction in their ability to produce ATP for muscle contraction? Why?
Is the isotonic contraction observed when the hamstrings contracted a concentric isotonic contraction or an eccentric isotonic contraction? What would you ask the subject to do to observe the other type of isotoniccontraction?
Which type of myosin is found in contractile bundles?
