The aspiration that drives one to achieve the set objectives is said as motivation. An intrinsic reward is the individual’s contentment when objectives are accomplished and job is performed efficiently. Intrinsic reward comes from inside the individual.

An extrinsic reward is the contentment from the tangible benefit, generally in the financial form received as recognition for efficient performance. It includes rise in pay, bonuses, and promotions.
