Introduction:

The Rh blood group contains the Rh antigen on the red blood cells (RBCs). It is named so because one of the eight Rh antigens (agglutinogen D) was originally identified in Rhesus monkeys. This antigen was originally discovered in Rhesus monkeys and later revealed in the humans. A person who is Rh+ contains Rh antigen, whereas the person who lacks the Rh antigen is known as Rh-.
