The unique_ptr class:
A “unique_ptr” is a smart pointer which wraps the normal pointer into an owned object is referred as raw pointer. This object will manage or taking ownership of another object using pointer.
- It has an ability to take responsible for deleting the pointed object when it goes out of scope.
- It owns their pointer unique.
- It is parameterized by the type of an object it points to.
Syntax:
Consider the following syntax to create a “unique_ptr” pointer:
unique_ptr<data_type> pointer_variable(new data_type);
Example:
unique_ptr<int> wrd(new int);
In above statement, the variable “wrd” is declared as “unique_ptr” for int type.
