Chapter 10, Problem 3ACT
Summary Introduction

To determine: The side of the glass where pressure is applied to form a radial fracture as well as concentric fracture based on the figure and to clarify the reasons.

Introduction: Glass is a common object found in the crime sites. A glass fracture is a key evidence in the crime scene. Glass fractures are formed when a force is applied on its surface creating a bend as it has reached its elasticity limit. When a bullet or stone penetrates the window, it forms a rough circle surrounding the point which is known as crack. Cracks can either radiate out known as radial fracture or it can surround the hole known as concentric fracture.
