Summary Introduction
To determine: The location of the three types of plant tissues on the surface of leaves, stems and roots.
Introduction: A tissue is defined as a group of cells with a similar structure and function. Plant tissues are classified as simple or complex. Simple tissues consist of one or two cell types. Complex tissue consists of two or more cell types but lack an organization. The three general types of simple or complex tissues in plants are dermal, ground and vascular.

Patches of cylinders of this tissue are found near the surface of lengthening stems.
The cells have thick lignin-impregnated walls.
Cells are alive at maturity and retain the capacity to divide.
Some types specialized in storage, secretion, and other regeneration of damaged tissue.
Cells are mostly elongated, with unevenly thickened primary walls.
Provide flexible support for primary tissues.
Abundant airspaces are found around the cells.
Supports mature plant parts and often protects seeds.
Cells are pliable thin walled and many-sided.
Abundant in the leaf mesophyll tissue, specialized for photosynthesis.
