Introduction: The Calvin cycle is often referred to as the C3 cycle. It is the process by which the carbon from the carbon cycle gets fixed into sugars in a series of chemical processes. The chloroplast of the plant cell is where it takes place.
In contrast, the light reaction is the first stage of photosynthesis where ATP and NADPH are produced.
