To write:
The ear has the organs of vestibular apparatus that detect the acceleration of an individual and helps in balancing.
Introduction:
The organs of vestibular apparatus in the ear are found in the inner ear which is made up of 3 Semicircular canals, and two otolith organs known as Utricle and Saccule. The semicircular canals as well as the otolith organs are filled with fluid particles.
The vestibular organs’ main functions are given below:
- It has a number of reflex paths that help in making compensatory movements in the body and adjusts our body position so as to maintain the balance.
- It also helps in perceiving gravitation and movement of our body hence it can also perceive the acceleration in our movements.
Here acceleration refers to the change in the velocity of objects depending on the speed. Linear acceleration is a change in the speed without a change in the direction’s movement like a moving car changes its velocity by gaining speed in the same direction.
