Chapter 11, Problem 17MC
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
The heart is a muscular organ. It is a vital organ of the body, which pumps blood through the blood vessels in the body. In vertebrates, it is separated into four chambers: two ventricles (left and right) and two atria (left as well as right).
The heart comprises four valves that allow blood to flow unidirectionally through the heart and its chambers. There are two sets of valves: the atrioventricular valve and the semilunar valve.
