Summary Introduction

Concept Introduction: Mitosis and cytokinesis (cytoplasmic division) result in the transfer of a parent cell genome into two daughter cells. Mitosis is preceded by the S stage of interphase and is followed by cytoplasmic division which will divide the cytoplasm, organelles and cell membrane into two daughter cells, since, the prokaryotic cells lack nucleus mitosis that occurs only in the eukaryotic cells.
