Introduction:
The nervous system can be basically divided into the Central Nervous System (CNS) and the Peripheral Nervous System (PNS).The CNS is composed of the Brain and the Spinal cord. The CNS helps in carrying out various vital functions of our body like − controlling our thoughts and emotions, movements. It also controls the breathing, the heart rate, temperature, the release of hormones, etc. The brain consists of cerebellum, basal ganglia, broca’s area, medulla oblongata, hypothalamus, corpus callosum, thalamus, and amygdala. The brain as well as the spinal cord together constitutes the CNS.
