Bone or osseous tissue is a connective tissue which has a hardened matrix. Matrix is hardened due to the deposition of calcium phosphate and other minerals. There are two forms of osseous tissue: Spongy bone, Compact (dense) bone. Bones are classified into four groups according to their shapes and corresponding functions: long bones, short bones, flat bones and irregular bones.
