Answer to Problem 1RCQ

Solution:

Crystalline substances have a particular geometric arrangement while non-crystalline substances have irregular and random shape.

Explanation of Solution

The Crystalline substance has some particular arrangement of atoms and molecules that imparts a geometric shape to the substance. In a crystalline substance, in each direction, the arrangement of atoms and molecules is uniform. They can be cut to give a predictable shape while non-crystalline substance has an irregular arrangement of atoms and molecules and therefore gives a random shape, and when they are broken they will give a non-uniform and unpredictable shape.

Conclusion:

So it has been concluded that crystalline substances have particular geometric arrangement while non-crystalline substances have irregular and random shape.
