Each step in the pathway from an external acoustic meatus to the hearing receptor.
Introduction:
The mechanoreceptors present in the ear detect the sense of sounds. The ear is the organ which is used for hearing in mammals. The outer ear comprises the structure that is present externally. The structures present in the outer ear are pinna (auricle), S-shaped tube, external acoustic, meatus (external auditory canal) and the tympanic membrane (eardrum).
