Algae include mainly aquatic plants that are found mostly in marine habitats. They are the eukaryotic photoautotrophic organisms that contain sexual reproductive structures in which every cell forms a gamete. Algae has wide distribution and diverse morphological features. The scientists who work on algae are called phycologists and the study of algae is phycology.
