Interpretation:
The place where the protein degradation in a cell takes place is to be determined.
Concept introduction:
Proteins are in a dynamic state, in which they are turned over. Athletes are quite familiar with this because they work hard to get in shape but they get out of shape very quickly.
The abnormal proteins that are formed from errors in either transcription or translation degrade quickly. A single break in peptide backbone of protein triggers the rapid degradation of pieces.
